DM8000 displays "ERROR" on oled

  • Hi,
when I turn my Dreambox 8000 on, it shows the DM logo on the OLED screen and then writes "ERROR" over it.

I guess the box is dead? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

I got prcisely teh same problem and could also solve it by slightly pushing the SIM card. This was 3 days ago. Was your problem solved permanently or did teh card get loose again after some days/weeks? In other words, was it needed to send back the box?

    Cheers, klaymen

  • I have exactly the same problem with a brand new DM8000 decoder. Can anyone of you kindly explain to me how you resolved the problem? Which sim card are you talking of? When can I find it and what do I have to do with it? Is this a serious problem that warrants a return to factory or is it just normal? Thank you for your advice.

  • sending to RMA doesnt solve that problem, just month ago received and yesterday got it again

solution is leave on box with ERROR message for 5-10 minutes and then press power button

You mean the one on the front panel or the on/off button on the rear panel. If it's the latter, do you press it once or twice?

Hi, also on my DM8000 i have "ERROR" on the OLED screen when i turn it on, but it occour after flash a new firmware on dreambox. With dreamup 1.3.3.6 i got this error:

Something hav any suggestions?? Is the box dead???

    Thanks!!!

  • Seems that the box need a new Flash chip

DM8000 HD, (sata) HDD + (sata) SSD - DeLOCK + (usb) Stick, OoZooN OE2.0 (flash)
    QNAP TS-209 Pro, TS-409U, TS-219P
    40'' LCD Toshiba 40ZF355D
    AV : Logitech Z-5500 Digital

  • You tried to flash it with "bad sector repair" option in dreamup or BIOS ?

Or tried to flash again? The sectors are marked as "bad" now and normally they should not get used again, so flashing again should normaly work !?

But yes ... it might also be possible that the nand flash is dead ... then you have to send it to DMM for repair :upside_down_face:

Theorie ist, wenn man alles weiß, aber nichts funktioniert.
Praxis ist, wenn alles funktioniert aber niemand weiß warum.

  • Thanks for the answer, Homey, yes, i try to flash several time a new firmware, but the result everytime is the same: some block will be marked as bad and the last word "box will be unusable now!!" is not a good sound for me. It's only 3 day's that i have this nice box and I hope the sellers change with a new one!!!!

Thanks a lot for the answer
