hallo!
folgendes problem:
dm800 optisch über AV-receiver. mpeg signal ohne problem, aber AC3 dolby surround signal ist nur ein knacksen und abgehacktes geräusch.
hab alle einstellungen an der dm800 probiert und der AV-receiver inkl kabel ist in ordnung (war vorher bei der dm7000 in betrieb)
gibts ähnliche beobachtungen, lösungen?
Hast du auch den "AC3 downmix" abgeschaltet ?
It has nothing to do with downmix, to hear the problem you need to tune in to something other than German channels, eg, SkyUK, the problem does not exist with German channels!
Please can we have an ETA for a fix, for those of us who watch other than German this problen is getting very annoying now.
With SkyUK there is no point in changing to mepeg audio channel as this is the narratative audio track.

yep alles schon probiert. tritt bei mpeg nicht auf, nur bei z.b. premiere mit AC3 dolby surround.
hab die selben settings, kabel wie für die dm7000 genommen, bei der es funktioniert hat. hoff, das wird bald gelöst....

Bei mir habe ich keine Probleme bei Premiere mit AC3.
So könnte es doch ein Problem mit manchen AV Receivern sein.
Das heisst aber auch in diesem Fall, das ein Fix für das AC3 Problem mit einigen AV's kommen sollte.

Kann ja schlecht sein, dass sich die Leute die Yamaha Receiver haben nur wegen der 800er nen anderen AC3 DSP holen!
Zumal es ja nach langem hin und her mit der 7025 auch ging!

Mal fleißig AC3 testen! Mit den Sky UK Kanälen ist das auch nicht besser geworden!
Will DMM keine 800er nach UK verkaufen?

komisch eigentlich, dass es bei unterschiedlichen av-receivern auftritt. man sollte meinen das signal sollte immer und überall gleich sein *grübel*

Sorry that I don't speak German.
I have the same problem with AC3 audio through the optical cable.
I get "hickups" on HD channels, but not on all channels.
When I set the box to "downmix ac3" it gets better, but the problem still remains, and even btw I don't want it "downmix ac3" because I want to listen to 5.1 channel audio, I didn't baught an expensive receiver for nothing.
I have already adressed dream multimedia, but they don't see any problems and their saying to update the drivers, but I'm already running the latest, so...
Please all dm800 users who are experiencing this problem, contact dream multimedia to push them to fix the issue.

i´m observing the same as you. when trying to use AC3 i get strange noise which is definitly no 5.1 output. it seems that this happens only with several AV-receiver but thats not really making me happy...
i already wrote the support of dream but since now i haven´t received a answer. what i´ve found at other boards it seems to be a known problem which should be solved hopefully in the near future by a software update.
let´s hope the best...
does volume control is able on AC3 ?
Only if downmixing (to stereo) is enabled, otherwise not.
