Ok, thanks for info.
Resque Mode

Resque loader? Where do I find it? is it a deb-file?
-
go to www.dreamboxupdate.com click on the imagelink for the 7080 and then scroll down until you find vmlinux-rescue*.bin files .....
Next you figure out how to flash them
-
Thanks! It seems to be a .bin file. How to handle it?
-
Next you figure out how to flash them
But you should REALLY start using the search function of the board:

Guess who explained this already ...
-
But I really do not understand what to do avter ftp to /tmp

flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin
-
yes
-
Shall I only put the bin-file in /temp? But should I not do anything else? Sorry for may be a silly question.
-
you put the file there and execute the flash-rescue command that you posted ... then you do a prayer and reboot the box.
-
You have to connect via SSH to execute the command
-
I'm pretty sure that good old & simple telnet will do also the job.
ssh doesn't work without password, so you just make the world more complex for the elderly
-
Yes, but what do I really do to execute the binfile? I think I really have some missing knowledge, sorry.
-
You don't execute the bin file, you use the flash-rescue comand to write it to the rescue partition of your Dreambox's Flash.
-
Just put thje file in /tmp and then rebooot?
-
How often do we have to repeat: put it in tmp AND EXECUTE flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin from telnet or ssh.
-
My way to go to rescue mode is telnet >echo "rescue" >> /proc/stb/fp/boot_mode
-
READ my reply.
You use the flash-rescue /tmp/*.bin command BEFORE you reboot.
-
OK, thanks! Sorry, but my knowledge in the 7080-managing is rather poor, but I learn more and more. The flash worked now. Buit I did nont know that flash-resacue was a command......
-
Well, you inspired me to add the "Flash Recovery Bios from Feed" choice to dBackup Plugin 0.33
-
No problem
Our knowledge is not much better
