I don't think that Dreambox or E2 is dead in any near future. And for the use they was and is produced they still work just fine.

(Yes even for the grey stuff )

But I can agree that DP could do a much better work to keep their customers in the loop.

To regularly give some updates and information about the progress.

Maybe share some of the future plans.

All information is better den no information, and dead silence is never good.

Well in this case when there are going to be an all in one Image for One, Two and Seven. It would be nice if the Teams at least got access to the repo before they release the Seven.

You should re flash your box with the pure factory image an check if the same issue is still there.

Your log shows that you are using GP4.1. Not that it should be any problems.

But this is the factory forum so a clean factory image is needed to give the proper support.

And do not backup and restore any settings when you flash new image.

I strongly recommend the DisplaySkin plugin

With the plugin the tiny lcd diplay of the two actually comes to life and @Jogi29 have done an amazing work.

You would be surprise how well formatted the lcd skin is. : thumbsup:

PP Image have an USB Format and partition Wizard

You can create up to 4 partition and format them individually

File system choice is:

ext2

ext3

ext4

fat32

Well the first most common mistake made by users switching from OE-A based Boxes. Is to again try and put such none supported images into the Dreambox.

Do not try that!! Personal I do not understand why anyone buy a Dreambox and then later want to put one of the unsupported image into their Dreambox.

You do not buy an Macintosh (Apple) Computer just to put Windows into it

Second, Take the time and get to know your new Dreambox, Learn the Menu system and also read up on the dpkg/apt installation since you probably are custom now to the old opkg.

There are several very good DreamOS based Images to choose from. Bu your new Box is shipped with the Factory image.

Any questions about other Images then the Factory Image should be addressed at the proper forum where you found those images.

So it all depend on how you are planning to use your new Dreambox. The biggest different compare to other brands. This Factory Image is pretty well stocked up

And you can install many plugins from the feeds for the common use.

But remember this is the Factory Board. So questions about illegal use is not allowed!! But this you should know since you have agree to the terms when you signed up here

I have found the problem. We have our own RC setup plugin that needs to be tweaked a bit.

So for the moment just choose the RC-10 remote in the plugin and all works just fine.

Why not buy a set of HomePlugs Powerline. I use them all over my house to send the network traffic in the power outlets

then and put it on a sdcard or and Usb Stick and try and install it manual with software manager

No there have been changes to IMDB so the plugin needs some tweaks to work again.

I suggest you put your box into rescue mode and flash a fresh image instead of trying to restore the .bmp file

RE: Boot Problem on DreamBox One 4k UHD

@toysoft: it seems you have flashed a image with broken bootlogo... not correct format or anything like this.

To fix this you need a SD-Card labled "DREAMBOOT" with first partition in FAT format.

When you plug this the u-boot should stop before reading the bootlogo.... then the crash doesn't occur.

Then you can boot to normal image with "run boot_from_flash", or with "run recovery_from_flash" to start recovery mode.

You must fix the bootlogo or flash a image with correct one.
