The kernel version is updated / increased from r4 (20080625) into r6 (20081020).
Apparently more drivers fix included into the kernel, because vmlinux.gz has more space.
So the "blabla.boot.jffs2" has now the size of 2.893.232 Byte, but has to be the max. size of 2.721.055 Byte.

Needs to have a look in the dm8000_defconfig to throw out something.

why you use really unstable opendreambox-1.6 tree when you dont have enough knowledge to self fix some problems?

Why you dont use the stable opendreambox-1.5 tree?

I have the same error with Makefile-1.5-opendreambox (mod with BB_VERSION = 1.6.8 )

Why exactly are you using bitbake 1.6.8?

Btw, opendreambox-1.5 contains klibc-1.5-r0 (also in Git), which is not needed to build an image. If you really want this bug to be fixed, you should show us your log file. You can find its location by reading the error message.
