My first post here.

I am an happy owner of first DM7000-S since its born date.
I'm an embedded linux hacker, too.

Now i bought a DM800.
Today i have open it to install a SATA 2.5" hard disc and i discovered some undocumented stuff inside the receiver:
- 256MB of RAM (instead of 128MB used by linux kernel)
- 3rd USB port (it seems powered but it seems not be detected/enabled by linux kernel)
- embedded SIM-size smartcard reader + SIM-size smartcard (what is it?)

Anyone can explain me more on these?

is it to avoid DB clones? who use it? i dont understand these kind of "security checks" because they could be easily skipped using patched fw/drivers.
