VTuner Acceleration support

  • Hi to all

i have seen there are some updates in DMM drivers from dec 2010 about Vtuner acceleration support.
I' using a dm800 with external usb dvb-t receiver with 3rd party tool to use it with E2, but i have not notice any improvment with newer drivers

(i'm using extuner from Sif , link here..)
    http://code.google.com/p/opene…/trunk/extuner/src/main.c

similar tool is used by openpli

i'd like to ask to devs is there are some hints how this acceleration works or about activate it.

    Thanks

  • sundtek developed for their DVB-C/T-Stick a kernel module called "usbkhelper". It's open source and google will find it for you

Reduces the load on my 800se from >1 to around <0.3 as without an usb-tuner. At the DM800 the effect should be much higher... But I don't know if it works with other sticks too

Edit: khelper can be found there: http://www.sundtek.com/support/

    Thank you very much

i have seen this tool either in sundtek forum and ihad too, but i thought it was independent from vtuner acceleration support. Did you find this load difference only with drivers from 08 dec 2010 or with older version? This usbkhelper works with older drivers too?

this bacuase usbkheler was about summer 2010, while Dmm drivers was 08 dec 2010, maybe Dmm vtuner acceleration does something else...

    thanks

    Hi
Could you tell me how you use thus usbkhelper?
I'm planning to use it for usb DVB-S, Can I use it for DM800 and DM800se?
how about vTuner? should it be a specific usbtuner?where to get it?
    Thanks
