    Hi
sorry if it's double post but I just thought more people will see it here in English section

I just bought DM520 along with dvb-t usb based on rtl2832
I downloaded 2 3rd party images but couldn't get the dvb-t to show up on the tuner menu
I'm sure it's driver issue because kernel is new
here are some of what I did with the log

    uname -a gives this

    Code
    Linux dm520 3.4-3.9-dm520 #1 SMP Thu Jul 21 07:15:20 CEST 2016 mips GNU/Linux

downloaded dvb-usb-rtl2832 from image server then restarted the box but no dvb-t tuner seen

    dmesg gives me this

disconnected the usb tuner then reinserting tuner then dmesg gives this

    Code
    [ 318.483000] usb 1-2: USB disconnect, device number 2
    [ 326.237000] usb 1-2: new high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-brcm
    root@dm520:~#

    lsusb gives this

    Code
    Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:2838
    Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
    Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001

    opkg list *rtl28* gives this

    Code
    enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-rtl2832 - 1.0-r2 - USB DVB driver for Realtek RTL2832 chipset
USB DVB driver for Realtek RTL2832 chipset.
    kernel-module-dvb-usb-rtl28xxu - 3.4-.1 - dvb-usb-rtl28xxu kernel module
dvb-usb-rtl28xxu kernel module; Realtek RTL28xxU DVB USB driver
    kernel-module-rtl2830 - 3.4-.1 - rtl2830 kernel module
rtl2830 kernel module; Realtek RTL2830 DVB-T demodulator driver

Any thoughts where could be the problem?
    I appreciate your help

my brother is using a PS3 Display monitor that is 60Hz capable only, they did not mention any stuttering whatsoever
I'm trying to understand how dreambox is really handeling the 50/60Hz, is it conversion? or something else
a response from DMM engineer would be very helpful

    Thank you

    Hi
    I have a technical question
I'm planning in taking US TV that is capable of NTSC 60Hz only, not 50Hz to Europe
Initially I heard that it won't be compatible with PAL 50Hz but apparently it does if the STB outputs 60Hz like Dreambox
My question, is dreambox converting 50hz to 60Hz or what exactly happens
someone told me also that, when receiving 50Hz it can only outputs 60Hz at 720p and not 1080i, is that correct? here is what he said

    Zitat

I have a DM800HD - yes it will output a 60Hz over HDMI when receiving 50Hz signals - though I think only 720p not 1080i. It does a straight frame repetition (which it can do with progressive signals but is trickier with interlaced - so it will do a de-interlace from 1080/50i to 720/50p and then a frame repeat to 720/60p)

I want to make sure there will be no issue outputing 60Hz in european country, which means image stable no judder no stuttering

    Thank you for input

thanks, however it's in german, don't understand even with good translate
just heard that, iptv does not work with encrypted stream. is there a plugin that I have to install? I need a tutorial rather than links I guess
    sorry and thx

    Hi
sorry if this was discussed, but I can't find any helpful info
I'm wondering if dreambox can do iptv, is there a plugin that I have to install, which version? what settings should I enter?
there is a company that services IPTV, but they sell their iptv boxes or iPAD app, I can ask them to provide me access, but not sure what should I ask in order to get access via dreambox, is it a url or file?
please give me send hint regarding this matter

    Thanks

I would like to thank DMM and Ghost in particular for their amazing work
Finally it appeared that they are listening to north american users
now 8/21 drivers are supposed to enable turbo-fec, dmm users are excited but no way to test as e2 changes are still needed

    Zitat

    * experimentally added blindscan support (needs e2 changes)
    * experimentally added "Turbo FEC" support (needs e2 changes)

we hope that turbo will work, and for both turbo 8psk and turbo qpsk
can we know what kind of e2 changes are needed? is that new bootloader or new image release?

Thank you very much and keep up good work

are you able to lock the galaxy 19 97W?
this sat is weak, if you want motorized system, you don't wanna be off the arch. the best thing is to go with 90cm at least
winegard 76cm is could be enough but only if it's used as fixed system
anyway my suggestion is to get bigger 90cm like hotdish 90cm or geosatpro 90cm no matter what system you use
do you have appropriate satellites.xml for 97W?

wow, you know a lot of stuff about US market, how do you know all that stuff!!!
you are right, in DVB-C in USA is not the same as europe, so incompatible with dreambox.
Dish Network and BEV use turbo-fec, we were told that that it's in gost's to do list
DirecTV uses DSS, it's not compliant with DVB-S, no known fta receiver can tune DSS

any update regading new tuner features, blindscan and turbo
I'm wondering why DMM would change tuners from ALPS to broadcom, do they really want to add more features or it's just a deal because it is cheaper for them to get broadcom!!
I hope someone would be courageous to say something, we wont drop dreambox wheather or not you add turbo, the sales will be the same, we just want a answer, like the one you did when people were yelling up about AC+ support

    thanks

sundtek developed for their DVB-C/T-Stick a kernel module called "usbkhelper". It's open source and google will find it for you

Reduces the load on my 800se from >1 to around <0.3 as without an usb-tuner. At the DM800 the effect should be much higher... But I don't know if it works with other sticks too

Edit: khelper can be found there: http://www.sundtek.com/support/

    Hi
Could you tell me how you use thus usbkhelper?
I'm planning to use it for usb DVB-S, Can I use it for DM800 and DM800se?
how about vTuner? should it be a specific usbtuner?where to get it?
    Thanks
