I've tried to put last dm500hd image, but loses connection with the box under the flash operation.
Have also tried with Universal DreamUp, but get the following message in the log window:

Try to uncheck the box "use network" in dream up!
Might takes hours to flash the image then ...
I have exactly same problem and my dreambox just brand new as well.

The IP of your 500HD and your PC cannot be the same number.Go to network settings in 500HD and setup network,then try to flash.

Sorry,old eyes.So you are trying to flash box with null modem cable using serial mode?
Why not use network? It is much faster.

I finally got it going after numerous times trying dreamup
When will we see on download page http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/en/downloads new 3.0.1 firmware? Or it is not stable?
'Just got 500HD and have big problem.
Burned succesfully 2.8.4 firmware with latest dreamup.
Turned on reciver, configured all. And turned off from menu.
After that reciver does not turns on... nothing on screen.

Second stage loader wasn't found. Don't panic - it's not a (real) problem.
You don't need to repair your Dreambox. It just means that the flashrom with
the graphical menu was erased. You can restore this with a tool like DreamUp
with serial access.

Tried many times but nothing.
What should i do? I heared that many people has such problem. Reciver is ORIGINAL.
ANd of cource its impossible to change firmware by web-interface because reciver has no IP

Hi,
you can use a DHCP server in your network, then your dreambox should get a IP-Adress. You can find out the assigned IP-Adress in the DHCP Server.
With this IP-Adress it should be possible to use the WebIf, i think ...

You may download an older original image for your dreambox, you must connect your DM to the network with a DHCP working, make sure that Enable Network is enabled.
You can also download the second stage loader file, and flash with this file first then flash with the original image.
