This seems to be related to FileZilla and the different transfer modes and what not.

A bird in the tree tells me that FTP is an ugly protocol with a lot of complexities... such ass passive vs. active, binary vs. ascii mode, etc. Plus the need to open ports on the router to make it work correctly.

So I downloaded WinSCP and it works flawlessly.

Now... is SFTP not a thing on Dreambox?...

Hm... try to guess: what might the error message „Login incorrect“ mean...

    Interesting... :face_with_open_mouth:

But why was it correct the first time?

    Code
    Status:	Connecting to 192.168.1.142:21...
Status:	Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status:	Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.
    Status:	Logged in
    Status:	Retrieving directory listing...

It says "logged in" does it not?

    Hi all!

I recently upgraded my Dreambox from OE 1.6 to OE 2.0 and now the FTP is not working right. I can connect and authenticate, and I can do directory listings just fine, but as soon as I try to upload something the connection goes dies and then the client tries to reconnect but fails, then tries again but fails, then tries again but fails, etc.

I am using FileZilla 3.39 on Windows 10. Here is a log.

Here is a screenshot also, I think it's a bit easier to read with the color coding.

What could it be? I normally access the Dreambox wirelessly using a wireless access point. But I now have had a network cable connected directly to the Dreambox to rule out a problem with wireless connection, and I still have the same problem.

There is a twist to this though! I can telnet to the Dreambox and then use FTP just fine.

Wow! I would need granular control like that.

What system version adds all this goodness? I was thinking about getting a DM525 HD as my next receiver. Would this include such options?

In DreamOS there are more options, but in 500HD CEC features were still very basic.

What options do you have in DreamOS? I am just curious.

But you might be lucky with your TVs CEC settings (VieraLink, Simplink, etc. as the different brands call it). In my old Panasonic there was a setting to disable power events for CEC specifcally without disabling CEC in total. So the Dreambox would still send the power signal but your TV wouldn't react.

Great idea! But I was not so lucky... it's either on or off. Between, mine is called Anynet+ as I have a Samsung TV.

But I am 100% sure that there is also a CEC settings screen somewhere.

    There is...

But I don't see how this can help me prevent the Dreambox from waking up my TV when I watch it remotely.

Is it possible to disable sending power events, but enable sending source switch events?

    Thanks for clarifying!

It's not that I don't want it. But as I explained, I don't want to power on my TV when watching my Dreambox remotely. When I press the power button on the Dreambox remote, it sends the following two commands.

    1. Wake the TV from standby.
    2. Change source on TV.

It's this first command that I want to prevent if it's possible somehow. I would find the second command useful. Is this possible?

I just recommended your application to one of the users here. I know I tried and almost failed at copying and restoring my bouquets manually, and I failed at restoring the satellite and tuner configuration. So I would not do it again without trying Dreambox Edit first.

Good job with this application! I can see that it has evolved nicely over the years. I recall using Dreambox Edit some years ago as well as DCC (Dreambox Control Center). I have Dreambox Edit 7.2 installed now and this is the best Dreambox utility I have seen so far.

Fastest is to use a Channel Editor for your PC.. DreamBoxEdit will do nicely..

I would second this! Use Dreambox Edit utility! I recently flashed my DM500 HD and I just copied a bunch of files from the receiver to my computer and then tried to restore them. I thought it would be as simple as transferring files back and forth, but it was not. I would not recommend this approach, especially if you are unfamiliar with the Windows and Linux command line. Use Dreambox Edit!

    Thank you all!

    I found it!

It is not under Devices... I don't think I have this menu... it's Menu -> HDMI CEC.

But I went over the System menu and I could swear that the option "HDMI CEC" was not there for the past three to four days that I have had this new image. All I could see when I went to the next page was "Crashlog settings" and "Temperature and Fan control".

I suspect there was some kind of glitch (bug?) in the GUI. The only thing I did now is that I was poking around at different settings via telnet. I was opening /etc/enigma2/settings and a bunch of Python source files in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/ and so on. I know this will sound odd... but maybe, just maybe... some of that poking around triggered the GUI elements to fall into place? I have no idea honestly...

Anyhow, I thank you for your help!

I still wonder is there a HDMI CEC command utility? Or is it just a matter of editing the settings file?

    Hello!

I recently flashed my DM500 HD to use the latest OE 2.0 and Enigma2 available. I am all settled in now, except the TV powers on whenever I power on the receiver. Can I disable this somehow please? It's OK that it changes the HDMI source automatically while the TV is powered on. But I don't want it to power on my TV when I have it powered on. I like to use my Dreambox remotely so there is no need to have it power my TV on whenever I power the Dreambox on remotely.

Like... is there a command line tool for disabling CEC? Or changing its behavior so that it does not power on my TV? It's not likely that I will find any option for this on the GUI. I have seen what that CEC option looks like on the system menu of DM920 UHD and yeah... I have nothing like that on my menu.

    Right! Just do it! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I didn't expect this to be this complicated. :face_with_open_mouth:

But I have managed to restore all bouquets. All with ftp and vi! :winking_face_with_tongue:

FileZilla kept closing down my connection whenever I attempts to send or get a file. So I had to divert to ftp on the command line.

All is well except for maybe 7 services that indicate "<n/a>" in the GUI. I think they are all on Hotbird 13E and I tried to do a full scan but found no services to fill the gaps with.

Maybe so... it's too late to tell now. I took the long road and reconfigured everything from scratch.

This file that you speak of, is this not the same file that we find in /usr/share/?

    I have the following files.

    /etc/share/satellites.xml
    /etc/share/terrestrial.xml

I also have another set of these files that are binary identical in the following locations.

    /etc/share/tuxbox/satellites.xml
    /etc/share/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml

I don't see what's the point of having file duplicates in different locations...

Is the proposed /etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml identical to /etc/share/tuxbox/satellites.xml?

Dreambox Edit is the best In my opinion.

Yeah, I should have used one of the Windows tools. Now I have no channels, no bouquets, no transponders, etc.

I made a copy of following folders and their contents.

    /etc/enigma2
    /usr/share
    /usr/lib

How would I for example restore my bouquets using these files?

For example, I tried to restore bouquets.tv and userbouquet.whatever__tv_.tv to /etc/enigma2/ and rebooted. When I open the bouquets menu I only see the default Favorites bouquet with a number of references and labels or tags for German TV channels. Example below...

    Code
    #DESCRIPTION Doku/Wissen/Themen
    #SERVICE 1:0:1:6F47:445:1:C00000:0:0:0:
    #SERVICE 1:0:1:6D6B:437:1:C00000:0:0:0:
    #SERVICE 1:0:1:2775:444:1:C00000:0:0:0:
    #SERVICE 1:0:1:293:5:85:C00000:0:0:0:

I understand that I don't have any working transponders or channels or anything (I won't be able to zap between TV channels). But should it not be able to view the bouquets at least as text labels in the menu?

By the way, is there any intelligence between a string like 1:0:1:6D6B:437:1:C00000:0:0:0: ? Is this structured or unstructured data?

Oh yeah! And I have flashed this sucker a second time because I made too many, too aggressive changes to the system in my attempts to restore it to a working state and I ended up getting stuck with a beautiful GSOD (green screen of death) and could not get past it.

Second time around I decided to not mess around with it too much and I followed through with the wizard. Then at one point it asks me if I want to enable "multi bouquets" (or similar). What is this? As I understand it this thing needs to be enabled for me to be able to create my own bouquets, is that right? Otherwise I only get one long Favorites (default) bouquet (pre-populated with German channels and labels) which I can add my own channels and labels to?

More importantly! Where is tuner configuration stored? I cannot for the Love of God get this working. I was stupid enough not to take a snapshot of the tuner configuration in the GUI and I don't recall how it was setup. I have a multi-feed LNB with 4 port DiSEqC and I have to know which port goes where to what LNB for what satellite.
