Dreambox Hate twin Lnb

    Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

    signal "crash" when zapping throw channels


    hello
    i have 2 sat systems in my home


    1) 7w-4w-1w-5e-7e-13e-19e-26e-42e + diseq 1X10 (protocol 1.1)
    all working ok on my dreambox


    2) 7w-13e-26e Diseq 1X4 1.0 protocl *** 13E is twin lnb (with two lnb outputs) ***


    problem is on the second sat system

    when zapping from 7w channels to 26e channel all seems ok
    but when zapping from 7w or 26e to 13e i get no AGC and no signal and high BER


    all conection are ok and i even changed my diseq and the twin lnb to other famous mark


    today i replaced the twin lnb with normal lnb (1 output) and all is ok


    so the probelm when i connect any twin lnb to diseq


    plz help

    There can be some reason for your problem. Is the 500S-box a genuin Dreambox ?
    If not i have seen this problem recently.


    The crappy 500 fakebox was not able to deliver the power that the LNB and switch wanted.
    The setup was as follow
    500 fakebox ->EMP 8/1-> Octo LNB = not working
    500 fakebox ->EMP 8/1-> QuadLNB = working
    500 fakebox ->Smart 2/1-> Octo LNB = working


    The Power Consumption for the components are as follow
    Single 90-110mA
    Twin/Quad 190-220mA
    Octo 210-240mA


    And for the switch
    EMP 8/1 50mA
    Smart 2/1 30mA


    After i told him to try with another genuin satbox he bought a genuin DM 600s and everything worked as it should.
    A genuin Dreambox tuner are spec to deliver 500mA max


    The conclusion is dont use crappy clones

    It can be a separation problem of your diseqc 4/1 switch. It has to be 30dB or more for correct working of 2 receivers with common twin .



    Hakon, the problems with dm800 and diseqc are the same like in crappy 500 fakebox?
    Is dm800 the same fakebox ?

    No the problem are not the same in the DM800.
    In the case in my answer it was a crappy fakebox that could not give enough power from the tuner.It did work with a genuin DM600.


    The switching problem with DM800 are even with single LNB not just with Twin/Quad.


    I have had the same switchingproblem with my 5xSpaun 420 + 1x Spaun 410 (cascade) and 17 LNB (Single and Twin), untill i put on the repeat DiSEqC command.The box is an 7020.


    I have tested this setup with my DM800 and with correct setup in box it also works great. I have tested to replace the SAR410 in the cascade with different committed switches and still ok.


    Today my DM800 runs perfect with 2x Twin Smart 1x Quad Smart and just one SMART 4/1 SUS44 DiSEqC iso >25dB.
    And i know many who use the same LNB and switch with there DM800 and works great.
