DM 500+ User name & PW are lost

    Dear all,


    I have an enigma ver 4.2.0 and I lost the PW and the user name not the defult ones(i.e. user name:root/ PW dreembox). I could not comunicat with the reciever with DCC. is ther a way to reset the User name & PW without losing my info.

    FTP Connected


    Bootmanager: not found.
    Telnet Disconnected
    Telnet login incorrect!

    if you have instaled TuxCommander or able instal it from i-net
    then you can edit passwordfile


    open file /var/etc>passwd and change
    from
    root:$1$/s1lxq5X$gFFDmlyNFyFLnWo1GYj/:0:0::/:/bin/sh
    to
    root::0:0::/:/bin/sh


    save file
    and take away power cable for few sec
