On the last experimental release I can not connect to the box by FTP protocol..no problem with older version: is a problem of mine or a bug?

Are you using the windows explorer to connect to the box by ftp? For some reason that doesn't work anymore (it used to with 1.6). Just use another ftp client like FileZilla.

As far as I recall the Windows Explorer expects the FTP root to be /. If it isn't, your mileage may very.
You can fix it by setting the local_root parameter in your /etc/vsftpd.conf.
