Enigma2 API

    Please excuse my ignorance, I purchased my DB7025 just few days ago so I'm really a beginner.


    I would like to learn more about plugins. Is there any "official" description of enigma2's API?
    I presume enigma2 is the software which turns the Linux box to what the DreamBox is, right?


    I was looking for a plugin which would allow me to watch JPEG images using the DB but couldn't find anything.
    Generally I've got the impression almost all plugins floating around are for enigma1. Is it correct?

    Yes, you're right, there are only very few plugins for enigma2.

    Only the docs, which you can find in the cvs tree, but you can take a look at the official plugins to get an idea where to start

    JPEG aren´t supported now. I´ve find out (with help), that only a PNG-Picture with 8Bit works.


    If you have a look in the plugin.py in the enigma2 Plugin dir (/usr/lib/enigma2/plugins/), it may help you find something out.
