Bugreport - Problem playing .TS files in new firmware

  • Hi

When trying to play these ".ts" files I can see a popup that says something about SID not found in PAT. Most of these ".ts" files came from my old Topfield box.But they used to play perfect in earlier firmwares. In version http://dreamboxupdate.com/open…ental-dm8000_20101224.nfi it says something like SID not found in PAT. In the log you could see this..

    the related log rows...
    --snip--
    PATready
no PAT entry found.. start delay
    doing version filtering
    --snip--

The .ts files generated during dreambox standard recording of course works. But my older .ts files (on topfield usually named .rec instead of .ts) that I think has different meta data now refuse to play.

Samples of problematic files can be found here...One is quite small...
    http://www.incedo.eu/~sjoholmp/misc_internet_links/DM8000-tsfiles/

(use to play perfect in earlier DM firmweares. And always play perfect in VLC on all operating systems...)

As I have _very_ many of these .ts files I am not happy at the moment...

anyone that knows if there has been a recent change in the enigma engine??

  • The older firmware was a month old (I Think). And then the mentioned one. So something has happened.... But I have not tried every release so I cannot tell when the problem actually came. But Christmas and a month back is a reasonable guess...

  • I have search git.opendreambox.org a bit and looked at a lot of diffs.... But as I do not the structure of the code it's not easy to find anything.

Anyone that knows anything about this playing ".TS" problem?

Could this be related. It's the only info I could find in the repo related to ".ts"
    http://git.opendreambox.org/?p…e6ece5d741dd9a334949ca315
(ok, the description is different. But maybe a side effect...)

    Tnx

  • I have had the same problem trying to play back .ts files recorded by a Humax PVR. The solution is to remove SDT and EIT PIDs from the transport stream. There is a free utility "MPEG-2 Transport Stream packet analyser" which will do this http://www.pjdaniel.org.uk/mpeg. Use it to list all the PIDs in the stream and then demux the stream to a new file, retaining all the PIDs except the SDT and EIT ones. The Dreambox should then be able to play back the new .ts file.
