Helllo ,
Have a big problem. After weekend turned on my DM 500 HD. Picture stoped on TV and after off/on , DM went to "dead position" - I can not turn on it anymore.. If I press ON button - some red light inside box turns on and receiver itselt gets warm/hot , but no red or green LED on panel.
Router can not find DM IP so I can not instal new software. Tryed with Dreamup. Also imposible, because when Dreamup asks to turn on Dreambox - nothing happens. 
. What should I do ????

Try to download the latest 1.6 experimental from www.dreamboxupdate.com and flash it with dreamup 1.3.3.6!

Ja ja, nachdem ich mal wieder so einen Thread hier lese, fällt mir doch glatt wieder mein Thread mit dem Thema "Image von USB flashen?" ein.
Aber mit diesen ganzen Flashtools, Webflashes usw funktioniert es ja alles so prima......
Dies soll keine Kritik an daran sein, sondern nur aufmerksam machen das da andere Leute sich weiterreichende Gedanken gemacht haben und flashen per USB eine Alternative wäre. -

Yes . I am using Universal DreamUp V1.3.3.6
When I open DreamUp and pressing "Connect" button DreamUp asks to switch ON Dreambox. But after switching it ON nothing happens at all .As I understood reading forums : DreamUp V1.3.3.6 helps when green LED is on. In my situation no green neither red LED are ON - both opf them are OFF
. Only 4 red LEDS close to mainboard are ON .....
And there is no green light on network cabel conection -
did you install the drivers for the dm500hd?
1.3.3.6 should work with no led on in front, but the 4 leds inside the box!

You ever flashed with DreamUp ? You need to have this UART USB Driver installed on your PC to get it working!
Normaly it should work with latest dreamup 1.3.3.6 and latest experimental images. There were fixes to make sure you can alaways recover your box.
If it really does not work, then it must be a hardware problem but in 99% of all cases it's a software problem which should be fixable with dreamup and latest images.

I guess it should also work without LAN, only USB ...
