Serial of dead dreambox 500 HD ?

    If you have a new DM500HD unit please be aware of a potential issue with
    some early version 3rd party images that may/will BRICK your DM500HD
    and could void the warrenty. The sympton will be that after power up the
    front LED will stay permt GREEN, The Ethenet port and USB port will be
    non responsive.



    You may be able to recover the unit by using the latest Dreamup 1.3.3.5
    with both the Ethenet and USB cable conected. BUT if you get a reply
    from Dreamup stating "Waiting for acknowledge" and no further
    activaty. The unit will have to be returned to your place of purchase or
    Dream Germany for repair.



    All Australian resellers have been made aware of this problem and have
    adviced their clients accordingly.



    This problem is not a Dream Multimedia issue but something created by
    the 3rd party software developers who have not thorouly tested the
    images before releasing.



    I beleive LT and ****** images will be released shortly.



    BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN LOADING UNPROVEN FIRMEWARE AS YOU MAY END UP WITH
    AN EXPENSIVE DOORSTOP.



    All units sold in Australia are preloaded with factory release images
    only.



    As stated the problem is related to corruption to the bootloader and
    that ALL faulty units will have to be returned to Dream Germany for
    reprogramming. Even though this is not a Dream Multimedia problem as it
    is clearly stated that any installation of 3rd party software will void
    the warrenty. I feel it is in the best interest for me at least to try
    and get a solution where possible for the best of both us and Dream in
    Australia anyway. But if you are stupid enough to do this several times
    then you are on your own.

    If it's a 3rd parties, Why my box BREAK?!(With purely original image). I'm sure IT'S A DREAM MULTIMEDIA issuse and nothing else !. I wonder why they choose silent? Have we any rights as a Test-customers?! Is this our answer as a group of people that their only mistake is trust this company and buy their new product?

  • Your mixing up two problems... The one you had, seems to be a hardware issue caused by some faulty productions...


    The other one was a problem that was really caued by faulty images (but i think those boxes are recoverable with the newest DreamUp :kissing_face:)

    We're 3 friends . all bought 500HD same day and all again ended up in GREEN LED OF DEATH!!. It means 100% fault .Hardware or software problem?! I really don't care. Only important things is , THEY ARE ALL DEAD . Good job DMM!!


    Two of them sent for DMM , one is here. I hope you're right about new version of DreamUp or something. But I wish I heard this from DMM guys.
