I'm sure that that will work. Like I said earlier you can use one resource (for example Rytec UK) and
have no problems with CrossEPG. The shit starts when downloading more than one (for example Rytec UK + Rytec Benelux).

Settings are 7 days.
Recources are afaik the same, Rytec Benelux, Rytec UK etcetera. Those
files have a maximum of 6-8 days.Xmltv-importer plugin does not work in OE2.0, so you
can't test it here. -
Okay, so the question is, why doesn't xmltv-importer cause any overload troubles while CrossEPG does?
-
Zitat
the EPG is loaded in RAM while E2 is running,
only when E2 is stopped the epg.dat is writtenSo i suppose xmltv-importer plugin writes to the hdd "on the fly" (while the download proces is busy).
CrossEPG isn't which gives problems.Well, this is something CrossEPG should work out then because it's very restricted now.

Flash = internal memory afaik.
Rytec files contain no more than 6-8 days data.
In the past i used Openpli with the xmltv-importer plugin (this plugin doesn't work on OE2.0). You could
load as many Rytec files as you want without any problem. Now with OE2.0/CrossEPG more than one and you
are in trouble. Something's wrong here.
The way CrossEPG/OE2.0 swapping EGP data from flash(mem) to HDD is not what it should be. -
I wonder if this is an issue for DreamMultimedia or the makers of CrossEPG?
When i activate more than one download, for example Rytec Benelux + Rytec UK, the proces
gets slower and slower untill the DM8000 freezes. It looks like the flash becomes full, despite
of having the HDD selected as the download destination.
If i download only one file, for example Rytec UK, everything goes fine.So it looks like something goes wrong while swapping from internal flash to HDD.
I use OE2.0 + DM8000.

5 months, still no solution.

flight707, I use
[Moderator] Image is in violation of the Boardrules [/Moderator]The March version also has the problem already.
By the way, this problem is taking so much time i wonder if DreamMultimedia is
working on it at all. Maybe the driver team is sent home? Dream almost bankrupt? -
I'm sick and tired of the waiting for a fix and just flashed an older image (from March)
into the 8000.
Finally, no more lipsync troubles! -
I have this problem for 3 months now.
I can't believe why it takes só much time to solve this bug.
-
I think i found a bug.
I have a 800 as well as a 8000. When i watch and compare
Pal SDTV in original resolution (576i) on both 800 and 8000, the 800
is much sharper. The 8000 is way too soft.Normally, you would say that with disabled de-interlacer the image quality
of both should be the same. But it's not, the 800 is far better. Is this a known bug?
-
Which Diseqc switch are you using, name & model?
At first i used a Maximum 4/1 switch, which works perfect with a DM800 and tuner B of my DM8000, but
is shit with tuner A of my DM8000.
Now i use a Edision 4/1. The Edision gives less "tune failed" messages, but they still occur. The new firmware (release candidate 10/3/09) does'nt help much, altough the release notes claim
to solve the "tune failed" problems with some diseqc switches. Well, it does'nt.My dilemma is, should i send the 8000 back to DreamMultimedia (with the risc of loosing it for two months), or
is it a matter of bad drivers. -
I removed the Diseqc switch and connected one LNB directly to tuner A:
kein "tunen fehlgeschlagen" meldungen mehr! Image instantly.
So tuner A has a problem with my Diseqc switch, while tuner B works fine with the switch.
Does this mean tuner A is indeed broke or are there other options?
-
Is this a known problem or is tuner A defect?
When i switch the receiver on, i often get the message "tunen fehlgeschlagen". After 20 seconds or so, i do get picture.
When i switch to another satellite, the same happens: "tunen fehlgeschlagen".
If i only use tuner B everythings fine. It happens only with tuner A.
Must i bring the DM8000 back or is this a firmware bug?
(i have tried various images but the problem always stays)
-
With tuner A i have tuning problems, but when i put the cable in tuner B everything's fine.
(i don't have twin LNB's yet, just one cable from my dish)
As long as i don't have twin LNB's it's a good work-around, but ofcourse this issue must be fixed soon.
Oh and i have a Dreambox 8000.
-
Mmm, i was using tuner B so far for all the testing. This evening i switched the coax cable to tuner A (i don't have twin lnb's yet)
and now the SD image is better. -
you won't get a good SD picture on a HD Screen unless the mapping doesn't work!
and that is the point! all manufactures do have the same problem
I'm comparing the SD image quality of multiple HD receivers on one television (Pioneer KRP500-M plasma).
I'm not trying to discuss if SD an sich is good or not.
My point is that some receivers produce a sharper SD image than the 8000 with the same source/same televsion.
-
I have the 8000 since a couple of weeks and compared the image quality with
some other receivers. HD is top notch but i think SD over HDMI is not on par with the very best: the
SD image of the 8000 is a little bit less sharp than for example a Philips 8111. Looks like some unwanted
filtering or overly done de-interlacing is going on. The image is very smooth but at the cost of some sharpness/definition.I have ofcourse tried other cables and also the autoresolution plug-in, but this won't get the 8000
on top with SD.Any comments? Anyone else the same experience?

There is a fix for the Diablo & 8000:

Any news on this subject?
I can't believe my 1000 euro Dreambox isn't able to handle Diablo while
every el cheapo 99 euro receiver has no problems with it.You might wonder why the 8000 has four CI slots.
