Maybe this looks like random because this can be for example the 1st track and after resync/stop+start the 5th or something else.

I didn't understood what you mean.

But it appears with TV-control OFF, EuroNews stops faster the "random dance" of the audio-streams after initial tune-in to the EuroNews channel.

I have noticed, that every time I try to change the audio-stream, the NUMBER of the audio-stream is different. When I am trying to switch to English (0x0982) the drop-down menu first looks like this:

DS makes a few unsuccessful attempts to tune-in to the new audio-stream, than defaults back to German (0x0981) and the audio menu looks like this: (notice that German audio-stream (0x0981) has changed its number)

And finally, when DS succeeds to tune-in to the English (0x0982) audio-stream, the audio menu looks like this:

Otherwise DS works very stable. (The Euronews "dance of the audio" is not a big problem)

Thank you Thomas, for this wonderful program!

Hello LazyT, thank you for the ongoing work, and the improving of DreamStream!

In the last version 0.4.0-B14a from 29-10-2011, the audio tracks of the EuroNews channel (Astra 19.2) went crazy. When DreamStream tune in to the EuroNews channel - it starts randomly to change the audiostream! Sometimes it stops after 2-3 minutes, and sometimes it just crash after 2-3 min. random shifting the audiostreams. Somehow DreamsStream can not handle the 10 audiostreams of the Euronews channel.

It is useless to implement hotkey for changing the audiostream, but it will be wonderful if DreamStream can remember the last used audiostream of any given channel like the Dreambox do.

    Thank you LazyT.

However, please check pm for a testversion.

Everything with the test Beta12 version is working OK LazyT!

    1. Multiple subtitles are working now. (The problem apparently was in my ATI video driver. After today's driver update, the subs are OK now. I will never truly understand the black magic "overlay" :face_with_rolling_eyes: )

    2. EuroNews's 11 audio tracks don't confuse DreamStream anymore.

    Thank you LazyT, good work.

Strange, how many tracks has this channel? Can I test it here myself with the above satpositions?

EuroNews channel have 11 audio tracks on (13°E) and 10 audio tracks on (19,2°E). Tune-in data for EuroNews . It confuse DreamStream every time - after the first tune-in to EuroNews, the audio tracks in DS drop-down menu begins to accumulate after every channel change (+1, +2, +10, +1 ... etc.)

While you are at this problem, can you include also the language info - ENG, GER, ITA, RUS... etc. into the DreamStream drop-down audio menu?

Hehe, as you can see in the help donations are really rare. But it's not a problem, coding for fun and not for money.

Mr. T, DreamStream is a wonderful (and useful) program! If you coded it all by yourself - you are God  86,000 views in this forum speak of it's popularity. (VLC for comparison, is coded by more than 50 people.)

    Good luck fighting bugs.

    Hello LazyT,
After VLC died under Win7x64, my extensive use of LAN streaming from DM8000 came to an end. And today I discovered your (unpolished) gem: DreamStream. Thank you LazyT! This is a great program! When it become more stable, it will be the perfect addition to the home LAN+Dreambox. You have a beer from me! (in a form of donation :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: , and I wish you receive at least 96,892 more donations from the dreambox users :face_with_rolling_eyes: )

The first TO_DO thing is handling the multiple DVB subtitles:

I can see now DVB subtitles but how can i change if have multiple subtitles?

And today, while I watched the news about Japan and Libya, the multiple audio streams from Euronews drived the DreamStream crazy. When I have changed the news channels, the Audio Streams didn't reset on channel change, but accumulated! And soon, the audio was complete chaos: 230 audio streams, and increasing on every channel change... See the screenshot:

I have also recorded complete dm8000 serial log, from boot - until DreamStream crashed (I suppose, from the audio chaos). Hope, it helps.

Best regards LazyT, and thank you!

    Hello developers and Dreambox community.

Yesterday, my faithful dm8000 decided to remind me about the bootfreezes from her young age. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
The boot indicator freezed at the half length.

    Bootlog says this:

    Zitat

    [4294760.192000] JFFS2 notice: (27) check_node_data: wrong data CRC in data node at 0x034ac800: read 0x1073b53c, calculated 0x8dc56f76.

But my real problem is not bootfreezes. I am having problems with dm8000 streaming over the LAN. Quite randomly dm8000 stops streaming over the LAN. But this is for another thread, I'm gathering serial logs about this choppy streaming.

By the way, is VLC still the best streaming player?

    Best regards.

Ich denke somit bleiben keine Fragen mehr offen.

I have some questions. (My apologies, that I write in English.)
If I understand correctly, Lufteranschluss is 4 pins FAN Connector?

    • Is there enough space under the HDD to install cooling fan on the main processor? (The one with the black heatsink.)
    • Or the fan is intended to be installed only if you add HDD. (On the 4 free holes behind the HDD?)
    • Is there a temperature sensor on the main board? 4 pins mean fan RPM control.

Thank you Bernie, for the good pictures of the 8000's insides. :smiling_face_with_heart_eyes:

    From the SAT Industry forum:

    A DM8000 REVIEW

Just opening the package is like a surprise, the package is a really luxury box.

What strikes me is the size of the dm8000 box, especially if you're used to the DM800.
The DM8000 has "Stereo Installation" dimensions, so its larger than the DM7025.
The cabinet is perfectly finished. The front and side panels are "black piano".

Personally I dont like the layout of the LCD screen, but that is a matter of taste.
Elected for a "greenish" display, which is very legible, but I preferred the colors just like the DM800, white. It seems that OLED displays in those formats / colors are simply not available.

On the inside you can have a look at the PCB, its very well designed, even according to the experts.

You can build in a DVD-RW Slimline player. The software still can not Blu Ray, but I guess this will be just a matter of time, the hardware can handle it.

The image quality is better than the DM800 in my opinion if you look for a longer time and compare it you will see a brighter and sharper image.

Also, the de-interlacing is good, this is not 100% on the DM800. That is reflected for instance on a newsstation on the "RSS infobars". Furthermore, the DM800 is also a fine product, the DM8000 is really for satellite video freaks if you need to have multiple tuners.

The DM8000 comes standard build-in with two S2 tuners, so you basically have enough. There are two free slots to host another S/T or C-tuner.

I Like the future possibility of a Blu-Ray, so you will get a complete multimedia machine.

The remote is almost the same as the DM800, but with an extra row of buttons you have an even better service.

The Enigma2 software is the same as that of the DM800, only with more options of course. The box runs very smooth and is also faster than the DM800 because of the faster processor. I dare say that the DM8000 is now at least as stable as the DM800. I am currently running a beta version of the PLI image in the box, and there is not a single bug that I can find. Havent seen a problems yet. Ofcourse, the coming next time drivers and software are updated more frequently by DMM for even more functionality.

Apparently DMM is nevertheless succeeded in making the DM8000 into a high class product. For Dreambox fans, this device will cost as much as € 999.00 (suggested retail consumer price). A whole bunch of money, but for me the hobby it is worth it.

I think you can't fool the switch to change the modes without the programmer. I own the GD-10A Diseqc switch - exactly the same. And it's manual explicitly says: "to change the modes, you need programmer GD-10P"
I wonder what's so special in these commands changing the mode?

There's the magic words: "EEPROM value 05h on adress 0FFh" but how to make it happen without the programmer?

    Good luck.
    Will check often this thread.

Sorry to write in English. My German is not very good.

I want to ask rainersurfer, do you know what is the main processor in DM8000?

    The newest Broadcom BCM7335???

    Curiosity killed the cat.

Please, don't consider this post a spam. Today is Sunday, my old sat receiver is dead, my wife is away, the weather is bad, and the cable TV sux.

So, until waiting for the DM8000 to arrive at the store, I want to ask some engineer/developer from Dream Multimedia GmbH (or some knowledgeable moderator), is the processor BCM7335 from Broadcom Corp. the heart of Dreambox 8000?

I think that BCM7335 is the greatest System-on-Chip at the moment. But, is it the heart of the DM8000?
And what about the liver and the lungs? /PSU and cooling/ :grinning_squinting_face:
