    Of course, the criticality of subtitles can be very subjective, just as with anything else.

    But their usefulness should not be seen only as a function of the presence or absence of dubbed versions: at my home, for example, we like to use the original version (if available) with the use of subtitles, so it would be important for the latter to be clearly visible.

    And, without taking anything away from DP's ability to make the market choices it sees fit, and while conceding that Germany remains the core of its business, it would be good to be reminded from time to time that Germany is not the world: almost 8,000,000,000 people live outside its borders... :winking_face::smiling_face_with_halo:

    I'm curious because in January 2022 I updated the Italian translation in the github repository of e2openplugins (before anyone says it, I know that repository has nothing to do with the DP ones) while the version available on dreamboxupdate was an old one without translation (and relied on the enigma2-plugins.mo file).

    Recently my translation was completely revised in a manner not in keeping with the rules of a good Italian translation (also pissing me off since it was done without telling me anything, but that's another story :pouting_face: ) with the date 2022-11-12.

    The version now available in dreamboxupdate contains an Italian translation attributed to DataLife (whom I personally don't know but from what I can understand hangs out in the egami environment) and shows a date of 2019-12-14... :astonished_face:

    As has been written everywhere ad nauseam, installing images not based on the official DP sources on dmOne/dmTwo is a very bad idea, which exposes to serious risks whose solution may not be simple at all.

    If, despite the recommendations, one still wants to take the risk, then should not complain about the consequences (let him who is the cause of his misfortune weep for himself).

    And the fact that no assistance is provided by Team ATV for these 'apocryphal' images should also say a lot about this...

    So, I don't see why you should claim to get any assistance here, in the manufacturer's forum.

    Nobody is stopping you from asking, but don't be surprised at the answers you get with such an arrogant and conceited attitude.

    BTW, I am very happy to be one of the idiots here, and even happier if you go to other places.

    Assuming, as Pasquino writes, that using the card in a CI+ module (I don't have the chance to try it) enabling the "High bitrate support" function the audio is correctly reproduced, it remains to be understood why in OE.2.5 (900-920) the audio is present ( even with the described limitations), while in OE.2.6 (One, Two) the audio is completely absent without AC3 downmix.

    Hi.

    I can confirm the same problem: with dm920 on Rai4K the AC3+ 'Italian' audio track is played back in shambles, while the track identified as 'English' is played back correctly (however, a significant difference in 'colour' between the two tracks is noticeable, with the English track being significantly brighter and the Italian track more muffled).

    I would add that with the same audio configurations, on dmOne and dmTwo the AC3+ tracks are completely muted, and the audio is only available with the option "downmix AC3 = On".

    On all 3 decoders, however, the AC3+ audio of the channels "4 Fun Dance", "4 Fun Kids" and "4 Fun.TV" works correctly.

    Just some little questions about translations and the upcoming "Universal Image": :question_mark:

    I understand that it is not yet final, but I assume that the structure is now established.

    How much will it change (translation-wise) from the current situation?

    Does anything already exist in this regard (e.g., a new section on weblate)?

    If the changes/news/integrations will be numerous, how would it be possible to start working on it so that we are more up-to-date at the time of release? :smiling_face:

  • DM920uhd tuning failed

    As repeatedly reported, use of open images (i.e. images not based on the official one from DP) on Dreamboxes 920, 900, One, Two, is a bad (and potentially risky) idea , particularly among other things just for tuners management.

    So, if something doesn't work with these images, don't ask here but contact the developers of the images you use.
