    Hi,

Is it possible to show selectionPixmap in screens wich uses MovieList as component? I specially think of the MovieSelection screen. It is just about the only thing I cant seem to fix an selectionPixmap for in my skin. In every other screens I have a selectionPixmap showing, and it had been fantastic to get it possible in every kind of lists. MovieSlection is so much used screen that its sad if selectionPixmap is not an option for it.

Sorry if there is posts like this before mine. Could not find any. And my german is very very bad... And my english! :face_with_open_mouth:

    Hi again,

Has "every now and then" happened since last time I was here? :face_with_tongue:

I am still waiting for my complete translation to become a po file with all my changes in it, and ready to download from pootle. Could this happen before Christmas you think, or maybe as a Christmas gift?

Or, do you have a date for pootle update to 2.8?

No it's not the same I've tried to explain it to you, but seems you don't understand it.

I do know that scanning with both tuners (single or twin) gives me different channels found with the exact same satellites.xml used. In a kind of way I demand that it should give me the same results. And when scanning sometimes give me full list of services , and second time scan 28 services, and the next 0 services. Then it becomes very anoying, really.

I have just made my first ticket!

I think you just have some invalid transponder in you satellites.xml
That explains why the Blindscan is always working.

How could this be the case if single tuners have no problem scanning the satellites.xml info? The problem is identical (single compared to twin) whatever satellites.xml used. And the worst thing, the scan result is not even the same for each scan.

I've already discussed that in the past with Ghost (related to the long waiting times on blindscan), but DMM can't do anything there
as it needs an updated tuner firmware.

And don't compare it to the BCM tuners which are working completely different

Is'nt this tuner promotet and sold through Dream Multimedia GMbH?! https://www.dream-multimedia-t…r-klein-kuehl-und-sparsam

You cannot just say "hey, look at this fantastic twin tuner, buy it, an it will be be totally compatible with our Dreambox'es!". And afterwards say to the unlucky buyers who find it does not work correctly, that this is nothing we can do about. If thats the case, they should remove the website linked above and instead make the website tell people to avoid this twin tuner, because there is a firmware issue with it. An IF this is a firmware issue (which is just claimed and not official published), it should be announced by DM. And there should be told where the buyers can get this fixed, or how they can get their money back.

As long as you have a way to do a complete successful scan (blind scan), you have an options to do a software workaround. This is what we want DM to consider. I asume there is no problem checking which tuners is installed and let the software decide if a blindscan or automatic scan should be used. It's just an example. And if that is too much to ask for, just tell the user throug software how stupid he was that buyed this peace of crap.

We just want the truth of what is wrong here, and if its serious, DM has to take action about it.

Just did 3 times manuall scan for the complete satellite. Same result (268 services found) every time. This is about half of what it should be with automatic (528). With the blindscan I got over 600 with a lot of N/A services in the ALL list.

    What does that tell you?

We have testet to scan after half an hour as a second scan after hard restart, that does not fix the problem. When it gets to 0 services found state it keeps beeing that until a new hard restart. Sometimes 0 services on second scan, or less services found for each scan startet.

Nothin special regarding diseq or motorantenna. Testet by three persons with probably (cant tell right now) normal 2 headed antenna with diseq. Everything normal with single tuner used for every person.

Just tested 3 times blindscan and it works! Cant tell you why no one has testet out that through the weekend!

But why does it not work on automatic? Automatic works on first scan after hard retart with twin tuner, and not after that, and it works wothout problem with a singel tuner with both DM satellites.xml and Peter Pan image satellites, xml.

This is a hard one to understand!

    Hi folks!

Have searched for this problem on this forum but cant find any having the same issue.

Well, before the weekend one guy on our forum claimed that he could not "catch" any channels om 4.8 Sirius with his twin tuner on an dm820. He did'nt have any problem getting services from other satellites. He uses our Peter Pan image, and we thought it might be some connection with this. Our betatester group, including myself used the weekend to test our twin tuners for the same problem.

We ended up uninstalling our image and used the original DM image (latest experimental) instead, and the problem still exists. A lot of testing, and the conclution is that we get only some or none (random) services from Sirus 4.8 using the new twin silicon tuner.

We also discovered that when turning the power of the tuners, and starting service scan emediatly after powerup we got more channels from Sirius 4.8 than when restarting the scan over and over again afterwards. The more scans, less channels found, ending up with 0 services found. I know its said that this tuner have less power consumption than single tuner, but it could seem as this has something to do with loss of power regarding lock of the frequencies for the Sirius 4.8 satellite. This is a wild guess.

Our conclusion for now is that this is a problem:

    1. On original DM satellites.xml AND Peter Pan satellites.xml which is different.
    2. On original DM image (latest) AND latest Peter Pan image (with same core date as DM original image)
    3. On scanning for services on Sirius 4.8 ONLY. Thats what we discovered.

This fenomen has been tested with 3 twin tuners by our forum users and beta tester group. It has been testet on dm800se, 800sev2, dm820, but we think this has nothing to do with the problem.

I'm sorry if this is discussed elsewhere, and even more sorry if its dumped in wrong forum!

Else, I hope that the DM team could check this out.

    Hi folks!

Thank you for the nice Pootle! It works very good. Did finish all missing Norwegian translation just in a few days!

I have noticed something that I need some answer to. If I change some translation my changes will not be in the file if I try to download it (po). Is there any delay in how long it takes before it will be in the .po file?

Another question is, does my translation automatically come into the git, or du I have to ask for it to be available for image building?

    Thanks!

Wow, that was a blow in the face man! Who deserve that kind of an answere?

I'm makin my own image, so I do understand that this is not done in 5 minutes, and I do understand that its impossible to make it 100% fool proof either. I also know that making the repeated records would be another case to solve. etc etc.

I just wanted a serious discussion on what is the problem as it is today, and what opportunities you may have to think otherwise in terms of solving the problem. Do we need input from the user to determine what is an serie event? Could we make an setup for the user to feed in info we need to do the job. As an builder of images I just want these images to be as fantastic as the original tuners on the marked. And believe me, many of them are becomming better in what you can see on screen, and what you can do sometimes. I just dont want that to happen.

And I can not understand why you're running so hard against me, and in such a preachy tone as if you need to demonstrate your knowledge of the system, and then rub into my face how silly you think that the suggestion is. What is the purpose of that?

Something that has been annoying me for over a decade is that channels with no event info is shown as blank information on screen. This is not good looking, and should have been fixed years ago. Every original tuner I see in the marked always have info "No information" or "EPG not available" or something else nice to look at if info is missing.

Is it possible to see into this issue?

I got two providers myself. First one is GET cable in Norway. All series events epg description will there always include season and episode info. Example: "S03 E10". Season 3, Episode 10

My other provider is Viasat sattelite. Here all series events epg descriptins include strings like this: "(S1,E8)". Season 1, Episode 8

So far it should be possible to identify an event serie from a single event by just searching in event descriptions. So already before the channellist is made (by the system) it should be possible to get that info and append it to the list as usefull info to other system applications.

I can not tell if this is likewise for all providers series event descriptions out there, but I will come back with more info regarding this for other providers in my area later. Conclusion so far, it obviously looks like its important for EPG makers to inform all of us wich episode and season the serie event is. If this should be the case for every provider, it should be enough to play with for DM to implement this option into the system. As I said before, it should not be some kind og 3rd party solution for this, it should rather be integrated to the system.

    Hi folks,

About every original tuners in the marked today distinguish series events from single program events in EPG event lists.

Here is a list of what i hope could be possible from standard DM image in the future:

    1. If a serie event is selected in any EPG event lists, the option "Record Serie" should be the option. Today we get "Add Timer" for all events.
    2. When a serie event is added as timer, it should keep track of the serie and stop recording it when last episode is recorded.

I personaly think that series events has to be the most recorded events in the modern world today. To ignore a simple solution to record these events easily and professionaly would be going the wrong way.

Could this option be concidered as a standard option (not via plugins) for dreambox tuners too?

Would be nice to hear others opinions to this issue.
