23.97fps NTSC framerate

  • Hi,
I frequently use my Dreambox to watch 23.97fps NTSC video. Before I do I switch it to NTSC mode to avoid screen freezes as much as possible, but the screen remains a bit "shocky". 29.97fps NTSC video runs smooth, and so does 25fps PAL (when set to PAL 50Hz mode), but 23.97fps NTSC could be better.

I guess the Dreambox chipset can properly support smooth replay of 23.97fps videos and the tiny shocks I notice on replay are likely to be caused because it is expecting 29.97fps video, since it runs NTSC mode at 60Hz. Is there any chance support for 23.97fps will improve, for example by adding support for something like "48Hz NTSC"? I guess having better support for 23.97fps will improve user experience for both NTSC dvds and MKV replay (where possible).

    Regards,
