Help !!! Dead DM 500-s

    Here is the history. This is a new box. I was following instructions from a forum. When I tried to use DREAMUP to flash the box, it would not work using either the 9 pin or the network connect. When I pressed connect and powered on the box, it never became ready (flash button remained greyed out). So I used the Control Centre and it allowed me load in an image file called rel108.img. After than, the unit was dead. Will not respond to the remote (no menu) or to any another program that I've tried (DreamUP, Universal DreamUP, Control Centre).


    There must be a way to reload the system from scratch. JTAG ?

    Had a similar problem but with 500c, i had to use different pc and used dream up. Try diff versions, You need to use null modem cable and un tick the network box.


    Then dream up will tell u thats talking to box. This is the equivalent to jtag.


    If dream up with null modem doesn't connect the box is a brick
