Is the tuner BSBE2-401A for the DM8000 or not ?

  • My dealer sold me a BSBE2-401A to be built in in my DM8000.
On many sites I read that that tuner is only to be used in a DM800.
Can anybody tell me if this tuner is for the 800, the 8000 or both ?

And also ... the tuner came with a non fitting backplane, see attachment.
My dealer asked the importer for an explanation and they say that DMM doesn't have the proper backplanes.
    Odd story.
Does anybody have more information on this ?

    Thnx,
    SnijdeA.

  • It is not recommended to use the BSBE02 in the DM8000. It might work, but because of too high current consumption problems could occur. There is a new tuner in development, which should be available when the DM800 SE or the DM 7020 HD will be on sale. As always, it takes a lot of time and patience is needed.
There exists of course a fitting backplane for the BSBE02.
