Serial Adapter Problem

  • Hi

This adapter should have pl2303 module supported, right?

With thw product code I could find this: "Alternative driver for USB to
Serial using Cypress CY7C63743 (Vendor ID: 0x04b4 and Product ID:
    0x5500)".

But all I get in dmesg:

When connecting the adapter on linux machine, this works as it should, but the drive used is Cypress_m8.
So the question is now, is it possible to compile this driver to the DM800?
Not find the source yet, but should be availabel, from linux side, right?

  • I have now tested with 2 additional usb2serial adapters.
Targus with mct_u232.ko module and ATEN with pl2303.ko module.
mct-module is compiled extra and it look like working in DM800, /dev/ttyUSB0 is created.
    ATEN creates the same device.
Bot adapter has LED -indicating trafic, but even connected the without anything at the serial connector, the LED is blinking=TX blink.

So everything sould be right, right?

Both adapter performs perfectly at linux PC machine. So the problem is in DM800.

    Any ideas?
