Since we got bdremux now in update, i try it again.

Same as in first posting, so with DVD-R drive, but HD recording fits on the DVD.

Now i get another error message:
Error: Remultiplex Movie (mpegtsmux not found! please install gst-plugin-mpegtsmux!) (solved, see below)

If i try to fix it the simple telnet way, i install these 2 packages (i get the names from error messages and searching in packages list

    Code
    opkg install gst-plugins-bad-mpegtsmux
    opkg install gst-plugins-bad-videoparsersbad

(why the "bad" in plugin names?)
Now i don't get a error message, and just started the burn to medium proces as BDMV. Busy with remultiplex movie.
I'm happy with the button "Continue in background" Then i can continue watching TV, and see what's on DVD in BDMV format tomorrow :grinning_squinting_face:

I saw this in a update of OpenDreambox 2.0.0 for DM8000 (i use telnet session to update)

Upgrading enigma2-plugin-extensions-dvdburn on root from 3.999git20120509-r2.0 to 3.999git20120515-r3.1...

    Installing bdremux (git+git5+6b68707-r1) to root...

    Thank you Dream Multimedia :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I ordered yesterday a "SONY BD-5750H" to replace the "Sony AD-7670S". (anyone interested in the AD-7670S slim slot-in DVD burner?)

    At 14-5-2012 i created a ticket ( Ticket#: 2012051410000423)
    ---------------------------------
    To: Support

Subject: EPG import from xmltv (rytec xmltv or crossepg plugin ?)

Is it possible to add xmltv epg import towards OpenDreambox 2.0.0 images?

Prefer XMLTV rytec plugin import, it needsenigma2 patch, but then you

    have realtime epg update.

Rytec website with XMLTV PLUGIN is here: http://www.rytec.be/

Or without the enigma2 patch for realtime, we can use CrossEPG

wat, but that needs aenigma2 reboot after updating.

    CrossEPG website is here: https://code.google.com/p/crossepg/

At the moment we have a EPG in opendreambox 2.0.0 that gets info from

satellite signal feed(dvb), issue is, it only shows next program, and

not from the say next week.

making timer recordings goes more easy when EPG has info af say a

    week, instead of next program.

    ---------------------------------

    Result after two days:
    State: closed successful

I have no clue what's going on with DMM & EPG import. As far as i know nothing illegal, and very wanted because of timer programming. Maybe DMM is working on it.

Is it possible that someone of DMM can write what the reason is of no working epg(import) in OpenDreambox 2.0.0 ? And if it will be added in future?

    Hi all.
I thought, ok let's give it a try.
Burning to BluRay format with HD recording.
    I don't have a BluRay writer slim drive, but a DVD-writer slim drive(Sony Optiarc AD-7670S).
But i thought, let's give it a try.
I use uptodate OE2.0.0. Insert DVD+R in intern DVD slim writer. I start DVD-burn plugin.
Select MtvHD recording (360-sessions-David Guetta) 24 minutes, 1955MB (so it fits on a 4.7GB DVD5)
Then i get a nice message that DVD standard doesn't support H.264 (HDTV) video streams, and i get the option to choose BDMV(HDTV titles only).
Then i see required medium type: BLUDISC RECORDABLE, and the free space left of a single layer bluray.

    (Remember i use a DVD-R drive with empty 4.7 DVD-RW disc)

Then i press menu > settings:
    Authoring mode= BDMV
    Output= Burn to medium
    then i press green button/ok.
Then again menu > Burn to medium.

And then i get a error popup: "Error: A required tool (bdremux) was not found".
And so not possible to burn.

Question is: Is this because i don't have a BluRay slim sata writer build in DM8000 ?
Or is the bdremux tool not added, and if so, how can we added it?
If someone has a BluRay writer attached to their Dreambox, can you give the DVD-Burn plugin a try with same settings on OpenDreambox 2.0.0 image?
I want to know if DVD-Burn plugin with BDMV burning works, before i spend money on a BD-R slim slot in drive.

Are all hardware BD writer slim drives supported?
Like -Sony Optiarc BD-5730S -Sony Optiarc BD-5850H -LG GBW-B10N -Pioneer BR-TD01 TD01HA -Matshita UJ-220 220S and so on. or are only some specific BD writer slim sata models supported?

I'd suggest to have a xmltv import function. So that epg can have allthe info for a whole week(or longer) excellent for programming timer recordings...
(crossepg & rytec xmltv don't work now. (because of changed license, rytec cannot patch enigma2 anymore in oe2.0)

It's not installable/working (rytec), CrossEPG also not installable at the moment. (probably oe1.6 ipk)
And i read on that forum that it is not possible, because xmltv import plugin from rytec integrates with image, and they say it's not allowed because of closed source license of DMM oe2.0.

So the question is: how can we feed our Electronic Program Guide with at least a few days of epg info. Now i only get from sat feed, and that is the next program, so then it's difficult to made timer recordings, because all info must be added manually.

I hope Dream Multimedia will come soon with a newer opendreambox2.0.0 image that has xmltv or crossepg plugin import support. I mean how do you want to use a epg if it only show next program.(or 1 hour ahead instead of say a week)

    This will be THE future.
so a fair return price for your old box after a few years would be close to 0 - if you accept this I'll send you the money.

But it is even worser - with your argument your should NEVER touch any Windows Application, because you are not getting the source code of the underlying OS either.

And the market for applications on top of Windows is worth at least a 7 digit dumber.

    :grinning_squinting_face:
I keep my DM8000, and guess what, none of the computers at home here have windows. because i hate that inferior manufacturer. (innovation destroyer)

    Ok, i understand now.
I was assuming that everything was suddenly closed source.

Sorry for misunderstanding. And i keep my DM8000 :winking_face_with_tongue: (because no one wants to take it over, and because i like the hardware)
I'll check the blue-panel images, instead of full opensource images.

omg, never thought i'd use original DMM image on my DM8k. But i need that blindscan & kernelupdate(ext4 support).

Because the 3th party is now only plugin, not image source changes/improvements anymore.
So everybody gets better of it because of source improvements with opensource/gpl license. Now it's closed source, and so only DreamMultimedia can change/improve. (one company can not do what a world wide community can do)
If i use image of non dmm, then i cannot use functions like hbbtv, blindscan , bluray burn.

I understand that opensource image builders can use kernel & driver updates from DMM (and that is good).

    Hello all.
    I have a situation here.
Since opendreambox2.0.0 is out, i realize that the Dreambox stb is not opensource anymore.

When i bought my DM8000 a few years ago, i choose Dream Multimedia because it offers a factory opensource image.
And it offers other image builders to use their uptodate kernel and drivers and functions. So that was the main reason why i bought my DM8000.

Now that Dream Multimedia is closedsource, i feel like i get stolen by Dream Multimedia. because now it's like a average settopbox, closed source, no 3th party who can develop for this fine hardware.
To use newer uptodate functions like Bluray burn/hbbtv/webbrowser i need to use a closed source image. Any other opensource based image cannot have this functions.

Is their a way to bring dreambox back to store and get refund? I mean it's not what it was when we bought it: a OpenSource engined device with uptodate opensource software.

Is there a list which blu ray drives are compatible, eg the sony-optiarc BD-5730S, at:

I think any slimline BD-R is supported.
Because it's used a optical device standard .(in 2008 their was a Linux kernel patch for Bluray, i suppose the newer 3.2 kernel in Dreambox will support Bluray, i mean how else can they write in that format). Maybe you can ask the manufactorer if their drive is supported under Linux kernel 3.2, just to besure before you buy it.
DVD burner is also possible to burn miniBluRay .
I mean I suppose it's the dvd-burn plugin who create a udf2.5 filesystem on the optical disc. So i suppose when burning bdmv to DVD , that it can be played on a BluRay player, becasue Bluray players are backwards compatible, so can read DVD, and since they're BluRay player, they support udf2.5 and bdmv.
(Do correct me if i'm wrong)

Only limit is storage capacity: DVD Capacity and maybe the readspeed of DVD. But i think that is high enough for DVB-S2, because if you burn a HD recording now as datadisc on DVD, and play it, then it plays correct with DVD drive(on dreambox or computer).

Update: I try to use DVD-burn with BDMV (on DVDwriter drive with DVD+R), not working yet .

What you can do as solution:
Use a settingseditor and Make a new tv bouquet, and copy the radio channels you want to record to that bouquet.
Then when you want to make a timer recording, select bouquet you made, and select radio channel for recording.

    Hello all.

I discover that for my DM8000 a new long waited version is out: OpenDreambox2.0.0.

I want to say good and bad thing:
Good: Thanks a lot for the awesome new features. Looking forward to use it . I'm waiting for imagebuilders who use opendreambox(closedsource).

Bad: There is not much Open to OpenDreambox, because the full image is closed source. Why? I hope it'll be like the old days, open source, or imagebuilders who use only opnesource (like openpli) can use Dream Multimedia components, so that more people want to buy a Dreambox, instead of what other manufactorers do, give imagebuilders all freedom to their devices with great success.

Anyway, Great, finally Dreamboxes are not so far behind compared to other Enigma2 devices (who support opensource images). :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

How is the situation of the updated DVDburn plugin?
Is it already available as *.ipk file?

it's so quiet about this awesome new feature of DVDburn plugin.

Just the idea, burn your HD recording, and play it on holiday in any BluRay player.(hotelroom/caravan ofcourse for yourself(owner of DM8k).

So wassup ? When is BDMV burning in DVDburn plugin available?
