It's solved.
I reloaded the same settings with DreamBoxedit, and now it all works fine, well just a few channels who have issues... (sorry for disturbing)
I guess a case of Techno-Terror

Hello Dream Multimedia, this posting is for you!
If you're starting the mass fabrication of the Goliath, then STOP!
I read an article about new development that will arrive in a few years(like 2015).
So If you really want to create a mega settopbox with the name Goliath, then my question is, does it support these new developments:-New 3D standard : Advanced Stereo 3D (no more 2x screen split left and right on HD 1080p, but full resolution in 4k/8k without glasses)
-New DVB-s standard: DVB-S3 (very important, they say it'll start in 2015)
-New video codec for 4k & 8k : h265 HEVC (high efficiency video coding) used by DVB-S3 for the 4k resolution TV channelsI really think this is a minimum to added to the future Goliath settopbox/mediacenter/computer..
At sat position 10.0 E 11304H there are already 4 Ultra HD channels testing with 4K. -
The last days (snow in Amsterdam) it's impossible to watch most HD channels (using 8PSK). About 6 Decibel.
When i watch a SD channel on the same satellite position as the failing HD, then i got perfect SD (using QPSK). About 14 Decibel.
I'm using a DB8000 (first generation) with bcm4501 and bcm4505 same result. Satellite dish is pointed good (otherwise the sd channels don't work). Is this driver related? That a bit weaker 8PSK signal will result in tuner fail? If so when will it be solved? Can we get feedback from DMM devs.

Hi all.
I'm using at my DVB-S2 tuner the "simple" configuration mode. I try to do advanced, but then i don't get it to work(probably because i configure something wrong with diseqc 4/1 switch).I want to give tuner D the higest priority. Where can i configure this when using simple configuration modes at the dvb-s2 tuners?
Is it possible that I manually change a tuner configuration file somewhere in OE2.0(opendreambox2.0) to give tuner D first priority of the dvb-s2 tuners ?I want to ask Dream Multimedia: Is it possible that you add priority option in Simple tuner configuration mode ?

Hi ,
New Dreambox 8000 running OpenPli won't boot up .
...
any guidance on what I can do ?Google for openpli, and ask on their forum.
I saw more openpli users with that kind of forum topic. -
This subtitle on 70W issue should be solved in Opendreambox/OE2.0.0 image from 10-12-2012. See git commit here .
-
Today, 10-12-2012 their is another update of OE2.0.0 images .
One of the changes is:
- more robust handling for corrupted epg data from externel sources (e.g. crossepg)So if you got OE2.0.0 already, do a update!
in telnet do:Thanks a lot Dream Multimedia, for the fast action
-
Good news: CrossEPG is working on OE2.0.0 equal or newer then 8-12-2012)!
(got it working here)Of course you need to have GeminiPlugin 3.2 installed on (opendreambox) OE2.0.0.
When GeminiPlugin3.2 is working check here:
BluePanel > Addons > Plugins (system) (42) > enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepgAdvise: Be careful with selecting the amount of EPG sources. Only select what is necessary, to prevent a full memory).
Thank you DMM for changing the (close)source to allow CrossEPG to work.

It's already updated to dreambox-image-dm8000-20121208.nfi
Hasn't change since dreambox-image-dm8000-20121108.nfi
The original onboard DM8000 BCM4501 tuners work good, after negative DB in SNR, Tune fail message, and a few seconds more. -
Hello all.
I think since dreambox-image-dm8000-20121108.nfi I experience a issue with the tuners on a few channels. (the dish and switches and coax cable are 100% ok)
DVB-T works good here, but DVB-S2 has sometimes a negative SNR value, say between -19DB and -4DB. The tuning fails. After a few seconds more their is suddenly a positive SNR (like 14DB) and I got a good working tuner.I think this is driver related.
Do more OE2.0 users experience this? If so is their already a ticked been made on DMM ticket system, or do i need to make one? -
Maybe DMM give the new driver issue a higher priority. (OE2.0 tuner snr goes to negative with no tuning result, after reboot it works mostly fine again).
Hopefully a kernel AND tuners driver update -
I don't get that message on my google website when using https. i think it is related to the data on your website, the xss.(and so you can change it, not google)

Ok so I need to forward port 8001 on my router right?
Thanks.
Port 443 & 8001.
Don't forward to port 80 from wan(internet). That's very insecure. If you access from internet, then use https://publicip or dns name (don't forget the s)
public ip or dns name = the ip address you get from your isp, or the dns name you connect to your public ip.
Your browser can complain about a insecure https certificate, but hey it's your dreambox with a secure connection, so it's ok.
Always configure webinterface on dreambox to use password when you forward it in your router. -
Try to flash with original uptodate beta DMM image . Just to find out if your issue is image(and included bootloader) related.
Don't use dualboot.(it's also useless)If your device is younger then 2 years (date of buying at store) then use the warranty. Bring it back and let the store fix it.

Ich würde nicht niemals sagen, für Linux gibt's scheinbar zumindest eine lösung:
http://apcmag.com/how-to-play-blu-ray-in-linux.htmThe easy way to watch protected bluray in Linux is: Use uptodate (beta) MakeMKV, and connect VLC to MakeMKV by localhost.
But i guess it's not possible to run makeMKV on a briadcom chipset (400MHz) of our dreamboxes. -
Immmediately after Product launch
And that was planned in the 4th quarter of 2012, that is this period isn't it? -
Use webinterface when you can't see video output.(in webif: boxcontrol > screenshot all and click webremote)
Menu > System > A/V settings >
video output = scart (i guess your receiver switch to hdmi, maybe because of hd channel then i suppose it's normal to have no signal on sd scart)
Mode = NTSC (no pal or multi because i guess your tv is a old one that only supports ntsc, most newer tv's have multi support)check if other settings are correct.
If you have a HD receiver, then why do you use a scart connection, scart = SD, not HD. -
A bit early for source code don't you agree?
But what about audio & video outputs or codec support on hardware level. Is it ready for the 4k HD resolution, or does it support BluRay quality(4 example DTS-HD master audio). Does it have a optical drive, and if so is it a Bluray one? You know just curiosity. No need for giving info that could be a risk for say company security(keep cloners away). -
Here a great quote of the none official Dreambox blog :
ZitatBut as much as I know, I guess that the new device will not be
closed source — it probably will end up in something similar to the
current OE 2.0 image policy.
And i definetly know that Goliath will not support CI+ and any other DRM/limitation system!
If this is true, then Goliath is a GO(I want it) for me
Curious if Goliath support softcams -

Hello Dreambox users.
I discover that a forum search to Goliath doesn't give any result.
Since I’m a bit curious what we can expect, i start this topic. Just to have a place to discuss with interested people all the info we found on the net about Goliath.I found:
-This on the official Dreambox website.
-The official presentation video (mkv). (youtube link)
-This on a none official blog.
-Youtube search results for Dreambox Goliath.
I'm interested in collecting as much -prefer official- info about this new Dream Multimedia device. Especially technical specifications, like video output type, audio output type. Also when i see the new development of for example cable company settop boxes, like here in The Netherlands the "UPC Horizon", then i discover that it supports lots of newer techniques to limit user experience. I mean things like CI+ (youtube link) and HD+ (youtube link) . I really hope Dream Multimedia doesn't start with those user limitations.
So who knows more sources about the Dreambox Goliath project? I'm so curious.
I thought in this period of the year the Goliath came to the stores.
