This still dosent solve the problem of the time difference between the web interface and the dreambox.

Please see the screenshots attatched in my last post.

Ok, I've installed the DVBtime plugin and checked time with the NTP server, it's still 1 hour off.

We observe daylight savings time here in the United States, sorry for being ignorant but I'm unsure if there's a similar system in europe/germany, but perhaps this is the problem? We recently changed our clocks for daylight savings time, perhaps the NTP server hasn't updated for daylight savings? or perhaps the NTP server is located in a country that does not observe daylight savings time? Setting via DVB did not result in the correct time either.

Currently I'm using the manual time selection option of the plugin and i've turned off the automatic time update on startup. Hopefully this should work for now.

However, this solution does not solve my other problem:

The time in the WEBINTERFACE is STILL different than the time in the dreambox through the TV. The times in the webinterface are all ahead by 1 hour. if I set a recording to record at 2 in webinterface it will show up as 1 in the dreambox. And vice versa if i set a timer for 3 in the dreambox it will show up as 4 in the web interface. What's going on? My firmware is the latest version from the dream multimedia website!

EDIT: I uploaded two images, one of the webinterface and one of the dreambox itself showing on the TV... this should show what I'm talking about, everything on webinterface is an hour forward.

I decided to update to the latest software, i updated to the official OE1.6 image (3.2.4 for my DM500HD)...

    The problem still exists

I will read those links and attempt to install that plugin that overrides the time. Will pots back here if I have any problems

Also, there's another problem, even after I manually set the time using console, the time gets changed back to the wrong time. The time it resets to is off by 3 hours and 7 minutes. So say it should read 9:55 (21:55) it will actually read 5:02 (18:02).

So far my temporary solution is to set the time from Pacific standard time (+8) to Eastern standard time (+5) to compensate.

    Help

I can't provide a solution to your problems, but I hope you didn't buy a clone, as you named a "dreambox 2", which is not a genuine dreambox name.

Or is that a misunderstanding? If not, it might be a software problem caused by the clone.

That was a typo, I do have a genuine dreambox, i bought it from the official distributor for dreambox in the USA and i paid a LOT for it. Also, ive run the genuine dreambox verification plugin and it returns that it is genuine

There might be a transponder you are zapping to with a different time that switches your system time.
Saw a plugin in the IHAD board that could fix that: [e2 plugin] dvb zeit (oe1.6 - oe2.0)

I don't know how to install plugins other than going into the built in plugin browser in draembox, i couldn't find the plugin you mentioned.

Which dreambox type and which tuner configuration does your box have?

I have the Dreambox DM500HD, I don't understand when you ask me what tuner configuration I have?

I went into "tuner configuration" menu option and it retuns:

    Tuner A: BCM4505 (DVB-S2)
    Config mode: advanced
    Sattelite: Galaxy 19
    LNB: LNB1
    Priority: Auto
    LOF: User defined
LOF/L: 10750 (same for LOF/H and same for threshold)
    Voltage mode: Polarization
    Increased voltage: no
    Tuner mode: off
    Diseqc mode: none

Hope this is what you were asking for

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post, i think it is, i tried using translation to see where i should post my problems... Also sorry i didn't post in the english forum, seems nobody goes there and so less chance to get help, but i know that many germans speak english well.

I also tried searching but most results are in german and so i can't google a solution to my problem. Problem 1 is mostly solved by manually entering the time, what is really a problem is SECOND PROBLEM.

FIRST PROBLEM: The time is wrong in my dreambox 2, I live in Los Angeles, California. My time zone is pacific standard time (+8), I have it set correctly in dreambox, yet the time was completely off. I don't know what caused it to be off. I tried looking for a plugin to automatically or manually set the time through "Software management" and couldn't find anything. So I had to manually enter the time by ssh-ing into the dreambox and usign command line to manually set the time.... GREAT, right? nope.

SECOND PROBLEM: When I go into the dreambox web interface and set a timer, the time is off completely.... meaning when I go into the timer section on the dreambox the time in dreambox is different than the web interface by 1 hour. So if i set it in dreambox to 18:26 it will show on webinterface as 19:e . When i set a timer in webinterface as 21:53 it will show up on the dreambox as 20:53. I have no idea how to fix this, please help!

This worked! But I had a lot of problems, i installed OE2.0 version instead of OE1.6 version i had to get out of a green screen loop by deleting the file, then deleting the OE2.0 file, then had to figure out how to delete OE2.0 package before reinstalling with the OE1.6 package version... this is very difficult for an american to do, i had to google how to do things then use translate.google.com to translate from german to english to do it... but i did it!!! also, a LOT of knowledge of how linux works is required but luckily i have had past experiences so it wasn't too hard for me to do....

I have a few more questions for you:

1- what is this OE2.0 and OE1.6 thing? How do i see which i have and how do i upgrade to OE2.0? (I tried googling, apparently everyone knows this and thus hasn't asked this question). If you can point me to a FAQ that explains everything, even if its in german, i would appreciate it.

2- Where can i find more skins that have the channel number in the skin? Is there a list of skins with channel numbers in them?

Also, thank you thank you thank you thank you!

edit: I realized why I was a little confused... its the fault of the dream multimedia german site.... If you click products, then DM500HD, then "information side" it lists Release 3.1.0 as the latest version, which is the version i have.... but if you go to the downlaods section of the website it lists 3.2.2 as the latest version.... I JUST saw this... When I went to install 3.2.2 it said i have to update the loader, and showed 2.0 and 1.6, so i am assuming this is what OE2.0 and OE1.6 is.... if i am wrong please let me know and explain question 1 (which i struck out because of this paragraph)

I started a new thread because i thought you might not be part of the forums anymore, i just checked and you still are, which skin do you use that has the channel number in it? I created a bouquet and put all the favorite channels in there, and when i hit the tv button on the remote it shows a list of numbered channels but its still not in the infobar.

I downloaded EVERY SKIN available in software management and none of them have the channel number in the info bar

    1. you have to create a userbouquet (dosn't matter only one or more), there the channels have a number (you can setup the order with e.g. DreamEdit)
    2. you need a skin that show channelnumbers in the infobar (as I use)
    3. when you have a userbouquet, you can select by pressing the number on the RemoteCtrl and channel will switch with short delay ...
    4. Don't forget to setup in the system settings into "expert mode" ! (watch the settings belong the channel handling)

reset the root password and rebooted it again and now it's working fine... strange that it's a little finicky like this

USA user here (I know, pretty rare
So I was having problems with my dreambox when I flashed it wit the new firmware from the downloads page of the website...

Just after I flashed, I went to the plugin page and when i attempted to download plugins... CRASH! I had to flash again!

By the way, The "multi" Hz setting wasn't working on my TV, I had to log in the webinterface and use the web remote to reset the Dreambox to 60HZ everytime.

I flashed again and now my dreambox has crashlog errors to be sent every boot... I JUST flashed it... It shouldn't be crashing should it? Why is it crashing? Should i just flash again?

    Flashed using release-dm500hd-3.1.0.nfi and DreamUP_1_3_3_9.exe on windows 7 X64

I set up the dreambox for my parents, they are not good with technology.

My father has a hard time changing the channels without the channel number showing up, he wants to know which number channel he is on.

I organized the channels in the favorite section and he can go between them but the channel numbers never show up, can i make them show up for him?

At first I thought this didn't work because I didn't rescan after I made this change....

But then I noticed that it was: A- Giving me a different message than "not found", the message said something like "SID not listeD" and B- The DB was showing, and it was higher than before, before it was at 8 and now it' at an 11, so I said hmmm... let me rescan...

BAM, after rescan its working, before I found 133 channels and now 415!!!!

Thank you SO much!!! YOU ROCK! Send me your paypal and I'll send you $10 USD (that's about as much as a two beers costs here but I figure a beer would be more expensive in Germany because of the exchange rate)

I browsed around the internet and i think its a problem with my LNB setup but not sure,

MY LNB is not Universal, it's a "single" type LNB, here is the configuration on my other reciever:

    Connection Seperate
    LNB Type: Single
    LNB Frequency: 10750
    22Khz: Off
    Lnb Power: On
    Transponder: 11749
    Legacy Switch: Off

Im fairly sure I need to go into tuner configuration, User defined and put in the following (but I don't know what to put in comparison to what I have above)

    LOF/L
    LOF/H
    Threshhold
    Voltage Mode
    Increase Voltage
    Tone mode

I live in California, United States. I just recieved my dreambox and updated satellites.xml and scanned Galaxy 19 (97W), I got a total of 133 Channels... This is incorrect as i should recieve at least 150... I have two other boxes in my house (not dreamboxes) and they pick up all channels, this dreambox isn't doing it, here are some frequencies it's not getting that my other boxes are getting:

    11836v, 20765
    11967H, 22000
    11789V, 25000
    12115V, 22425
    11991V, 22000
    11966H, 22000
    12090H, 20000

These are only the ones I want, there are a few more it dosen't pick up, but like I said it is getting other frequencies, i do get 133 channels from it. I tried moving the dreambox to where my other Sat box is, and moved it between the two input wires I have coming from the satellite and still dosen't pick up the frequencies listed above.

    Here's my tuner configuration:

    Satellite: Galaxy 19 (97.0W)
    LNB: LNB1
    Priority: Auto
    LOF: Universal LNB
    Voltage Mode: Polarization
    Increase voltage: No
    Tone Mode: Band
    EiSEqC: off

I have no dish mover or rotator, it's a fixed dish.

Does this mean my dreambox is defective and i should return it for RMA?
