On record mode it does not appear to let you search for a programme "say " 2,3 or more days in advance , the same day seems to be OK, I am looking for a recording mode or menu similar to the SKY PLUS box which allows all of this in the most simple way, are there any short cuts in the DM to allow this

Also is there an extended EPG which gives a fuller description of the channel

I have the DREAMBOX 800HD PVR with a usals motorised 1200 dish, I always use the E2 Vhannibal settings ,
however although the Satellite listing is showing
19.2 east, when I select this I am getting no channels , I would wonder if this is due to Satellite or transponder work going, or could it be something else, all other Satellites seem to be OK.

On the DM8000 its on the yellow button, gives you the options for downmix on and off etc and language selection including NAR (thats the service you want to disable).

Thanks Sandra for that information, a few more items on the Audio you may be able to answer are :

a) what does AC3 stand for and what exactly does it do ?
b ) should AC3 be on or off ?
c ) under normal viewing what should my audio selections be ?

[size=12] Dreambox 800 hd pvr I have recently bought an LG TV and it has a disability facility on the menu which enables people with hearing and impaired sight problems to have a sort of "over voice " which is like a narrator describing the scenes as the TV programme is broadcast, I was able to de-activate this on the LG TV , however I have got this on my DREAMBOX 800 HD PVR and really don't know how to sort this out How do I de-activate this ?? I have down loaded the new settings and the folder is saved to my computer Desk Top , I now need advice or guidance to send the new channel listings contained in these settings via my computer (Dreambox Control Centre) to my DM 800 PVR HD

The hand book is right...
If it does not work for you, there are some "standard"- reasons to check:

1. What is the version of the image... The older images sometimes had problems with this
2. Is the channel encrypted ? If yes: Does your Module (e.g. Alphacrypt) support decoding of multiple services and is it acitvated
3. (DM8000 only) how are your tuners configured.
4. Are the channels really on the same transponder

1 ) am not into all the technical side but if I mention JADE 3 or ENIGMA 2 , does this help ??
2) I don't think the channel/channels were encryted , what is the best way of gathering that information ??
My module DM 800 HD PVR may support decoding of multiple services, what is the best way of gathering that info' ??
What is Alphacrypt ??
4) I can only comment that the Bouquet I was trying to copy from was all from 28.2 degrees east, does information exist to confirm what channel/channels are within a particular transponder ??

I hope you will appreciate that I am not in anyway an expert like youself and as such I am very much in the learning process , I have progressed from a Humax 5400Z to a DM 800 HD PVR , if possible I would wish to get all the benefits from my progression, with the help of you and others I am willing to learn, thanks for your time and helpful support

I seem to be having a problem with the recording function on my DREAMBOX HD PVR 800 , the hand book states that during a recording you can watch another service, I have attempted to do this for example by going into Astra 28 degrees east then ITV 1 London, started to record this programme, tried to access other channels within the same package ( transponder) and it would not allow me to accesss and a message coming up no "free tuner". and then a blank screen, I then go back into the channel being recorded and there is no problem and the channel is available but no others are, this virtually means if you are recording, only one channel can be watched on a Service/Transponder

It states in the hand book that only the same services ( I trust this means channels ) on the same transponder on this tuner are available any more.

Am I doing something wrong

I am sure that my Dreambox HD PVR 800 is genuine,however to verify that it is I have gone into the Menu, Set Up, Plug in Browser, this brought up a sreen with 4 options, Webinterface, Picture Player, Media Scanner and Software Update, I don't seem to be able to find the option for the on line verification code, can any members please take me through the procedures to enable me to carry out the authenticity test
