Hi, when trying to flash a new image I get the following error: "Warning: Could not read CA! Please consider updating your rescue loader! Fatal: Target device is not writable".

The old image still boots though and I can still ssh into the box. Any way to fix the issue ? Thanks.

Can someone please attempt to fix this issue ? Do not understand how 10 old year boxes do not have any problems while the new Two can not play files via curlftpfs!

Would like to report one (possible) issue with Dreambox Two:

I have installed curlftpfs (available e.g. via arch Linux ARM) and playing of remote mp4/avi files stutters while mkv runs fine. It happens even with very small mp4/avi files and the problem is not with my bandwidth or local network issues (the same files run perfectly with curlftpfs and older enigma2 boxes).

I guess there is some different reading method implemented for different files ? It would be nice if this could be looked into. Perhaps the reading buffer is kept too small.

    Update:

I've been doing some more digging into it and running curlftpfs in debug mode.

For some files I end up with a log like that:

    getattr file.mp4

    unique: 270, success, outsize: 120

    read[547943895376] 8192 bytes from 3575808

    unique: 269, success, outsize: 8208

    read[547943895376] 8192 bytes from 3592192

The thing here is that there are lots of these "getattr file.mp4" which seems to imply that the file is getting opened/closed or something all the times and only a few bytes 8k/4k are read at a time.

For working mkv files I do not see "getattr" that much and much more data is read at once, e.g.:

    read[547809669616] 65536 bytes from 230273024 flags: 0x20000

    read[547809669616] 65536 bytes from 230273024

    unique: 4205, success, outsize: 65552

    unique: 4206, opcode: READ (15), nodeid: 17, insize: 80, pid: 11983

    read[547809669616] 53248 bytes from 230338560 flags: 0x20000

    read[547809669616] 53248 bytes from 230338560

    unique: 4206, success, outsize: 53264

    unique: 4207, opcode: READ (15), nodeid: 17, insize: 80, pid: 11983

This file reading structure makes it impossible to play remote media files, I hope this can be fixed soon!

    Thanks!

I understand, but sometimes there are different filenames and the older plugins allowed a very simple way to select them. Also one could easily change the fonts, styling and positions.

I can also not scan in these channels. No services are found on this transponder. To me, it looks like the tuner in 800 is not capable of tuning into all dvb-s2 frequencies. I have contacted my supplier, and I recommend you do the same to make certain that faulty hardware gets fixed/repaired.

I think it is quite horrible that there are so many people here who are having similar types of problems and DM are doing nothing to solve them!! When you email they simply respond that new software is coming out soon.

As for yesterday, I can now no longer view some other HD channels which used to come up just fine. I don't know what suddendly happened but now I get 'Tuning failed' or 'No PAT' type of errors on
    Thor: 11341.00V, dvb-s2.

Why would this happen all of a sudden ?! Manual searching does not help (no services are found whatsoever) on this transponder!!!

I need some help with a problem which has arisen with my setup and DM800 over the last couple of weeks.

The problem is, simply stated, that I am unable to tune into certain HD channels on the satellite Thor on 0.8'w. The HD channels are on frequencies 12015 and 12128 MHz using 8PSK and a symbol rate of 30k. I have tried a lot of options and even tried to replace the LNB but with no success. I live in Scandinavia and have good signal strength so that should not really be a problem. Nor do I think there is a problem with my DiSEqC switch as everything else seems to work well.

As a matter of fact, if I try to auto scan the whole Thor satellite than no services are found whatsoever. By manually entering the frequencies I do get all of the channels - except the ones on the above frequences. When I first got my DM800 everything was working just fine and a HD channel for Euro2008 on the frequency 12015 MHz was also coming up properly. I don't know what exactly has happend over the last weeks as some services were shuffled around on the Thor satellite.

Any idea what the problem could be ?! Is it something wrong with my Dreambox ? All help, or pointers to where I may a solution, will be greatly appreciated.
