So, I have a 90cm dish with clear view to south and 15-18db signal strength.
If that is not sufficient than I'm sure many others should encounter this problem

I also noticed that I quicly have freezes on SD channels when it rains outside where my dm600 keeps on working if I use exactly the same setup. (both receivers are next to each other in my livingroom so I can compare easily)

And an other thing I noticed (dont know if it is relevant) but there is a label on my tuner which says "SAMPLE"
    picture
Is this to wory about ?

So, dont be so hasty to blame DMM afterall you have not tested with other LNB's.

If a standard DVB-S receiver can handle this switch and LNB's, one can certainly blame DMM for not specifying the special requirements a person needs to make this receiver work in a proper manner.

Second of all, a "Tune failed" is perfectly possible when there is no signal for some reason, but it is not acceptable that the tuner stops working after that and a complete reboot is required.

It's like having to reboot your PC each time when you visit a website that is unavailable.

Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

    your question

    Dear all,

When I switch to HD-channels very often (almost always) there is an "Tune failed" error on the TV-screen and it looks like the tuner stops working after that.
Only a complete reboot alows me to have picture on the screen again.

This also occors when I remove my 4/1 switch and connect the receiver directly to the 23,5E LNB on my wave frontier T90. (where I get 15db of signal strength)

    Annybody anny sugestions ?

Or a dirty trick to reset only the tuner , so I dont have to wait for so long ? :grinning_squinting_face:

For me that is the same solution as buying an other type/brand receiver :face_with_tongue:

BTW can you please explain this command to me ?

    Code
    enigma2>/tmp/e.log 2>&1 &

More specific what does the '2>&1 &' stands for ?

    thanx in advance =)

    So, terminal thing back.

was way ahead of you :grinning_squinting_face: log was written to /etc/e2.log
As you can see in the trace of HenksatNL it is a 'kernel' issue so in the end it makes sense that e2 is not aware and showing anything unusual.

Receiver is back to supplier since this moring, hopefully it will be repaired soon :loudly_crying_face:

Since its only E2 log, it is not very helpful I think:

by pressing backspace on begin of first message in hyperterm or minicom

doesn't do anything in winXP hyperterminal.
no mather how hard i keep jamming this key ,It just continues booting evry time ....

    anny suggestions

same problem over here, box hangs on a HD channel after some time. But I want to make sure I tried everything before I conclude it might be a hardware problem.

Are these drivers the latest 'official' drivers ? In other words, if I use these and my problem is not solved -> not good

HenksatNL: I suppose you use hyperterminal on the serial port for your log trace but how and where do you change the bootargs ?
