  • Which Switch ?

    My set up :
    two dish one is Tata Sky and other is DM 500S for dialog TV ( Sri Lanka )
    both LNB are attach to 1 X4 DisEqc one cable comes out ( from 1X4 )
    I am changing main cable to each receiver to watch either Tata sky ( India ) or Dialog Tv ( Sri Lanka ) .No signal lose . Both sat very clear .


    I wanted to avoid connecting and disconnecting main cable to each receiver so I install 1X2 switch with toggle so I can flip the toggle between receiver .In Market I got is 2LNB in and one out to receiver. ( please see attachment )


    I wanted one in and two out ( each goes to two receiver ) , so I use this switch anyway ( just reverses witch upside down ) and it worked but I lose 50 % of channels with very little or NO signals .


    As soon as I remove 1X2 switch and back to changing main cable to each receiver then everything back to normal.


    Can some body help me to suggest that ,what kind of switch should I use
    so by flipping toggle button I can watch one or the other sat without losing signals [Blockierte Grafik: http://www.maldiviandigital.com/images/smilies/question.gif]

    As I mentioned previously that I could fix one box with Null Modem Cable and Dream up , but other box I could not as Dreamup will hang at "download completed waiting for acknowledge...." then it will not further .( please see the screen shot of dream Up on my PC -Dup.rar)
    So after much discussion I did J tag and was successful ( ? ) ,process went through all the screen ( attachment -Dm500JtagAIo...)
    I tried with dream up again but it still hangs !! Dup.rar ,dreambox.de/board/wcf/index.php?attachment/2906/Box has green light constant in front , Remote does not work, AV connection to Tv and Box not working as TV does not notice the Box !!!


    Any help please ?

  • J tag Dream box 500S

    I had problem with my dream Box 500S and first I tried to repair with RS232 Null modem ( 2-3-2) cable and dreamup will hang with " uploading complete waiting for acknowledgement " then nothing happens.
    so after much discussion came to conclusion that i need Jtag this box , I did with all instruction( please see the attachment I did all the steps and it worked till last screen) and before J tag there was red and green light in front , but after J tag only green light .
    It was showing progress ( in % ) and finally it says download complete " now you can install Image.


    so I tried again dream up with null modem cable but still it hangs at same position !!
    When I connect box to TV with AV cable TV dosn'r recognise box
    so now what could be the wrong with box ?
    try to connect PC-BOX- modem I can not get all green lines so I am not able to communicate with box !!

  • Dream Box 500 not working

    This is my first thread in this forum ,please excuse me if I ask very common question ( not to me ) , but I will appreciate if you help.


    I am in India , I have dreambox 500S, by mistake I install two image together ( PLI and ****** ) and now box is dead . Only red light in front of the box .
    Nothing works.
    I have few version of Dream up but none works ( I have window XP Home edition ) The cable I am using has different opinions ( right and wrong cable ) please see the attachment .


    questions:
    1. Do I need J tag the Box ?
    if so , where do I get J tag cable for Dream box ? ? any where can I get step by step instruction for " How to J tag ? )
    2. Do I need to use dream up and cable ( which one ? )


    I will appreciate any help
