Hi,

I placed two low esr capacitors (2200 uF 6,3 V) over the +5 and +3,3 Volt measurepoints on the PCB, both with the - connected to the ground.

This reduces the 500 mV ripple on the +5 V to about 20 mV and the 400 mV ripple on the +3,3 V down to about 50 mV.

Since this modification, most channels are being received on the 45 cm Multytenne.

I also believe my "flea market" DB 500-S to be a clone.

at http://www.pe2bz.nl/hamradio/index.php?page=db-500-s I placed some images of my tuner, to compare.

The tuner does work, but does only receive about 20 percent of the channels my PC card does receive with the same dish.

Any help ?
