  • DM 800 networking question!

    Thanks both, I will check these things out, I hope that I can go the wireless route (once I get my 800) but if not I will have to fall back on hard wired I suppose, but as my hub is in a different room to my tv setup this will mean running another cable. :face_with_rolling_eyes:

  • DM 800 networking question!

    I notice the proposed new 800 model has 2 usb ports, would it be possible to use one of them with a wireless network usb device instead of using the hard wired network port as that is the way I currently connect my pc to my wireless hub.

    Could someone please answer me this:-


    I notice on the link provided in a thread in this forum that the spec is slightly changed on the proposed DM8000, it now has DVI, so.......


    If the new DM8000 is to have DVI instead of HDMI as it's HD output would we have HDCP problems?
    and
    If this is the case would we need to have something like AnyDVD running on it to get around this?

    I mean if they spent time answering every thread asking this question they'll never get around to releasing it.

    Translation, fyi:-


    I find it useful to use Babelfish to translate the pages, http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
    just copy & paste the url, select the 'from & Too' language options and let Babel do the rest.
    It's not word perfect, but certainly helps a lot when your looking for certain information,
    you can use it to translate a word from English to German, (such as 'power supply' or 'fan') then use the search function on this site to find threads on what your looking for by copying and pasting the translated words from Babel to the search facility here, and then use Babel to translate the result pages.



    BTW, I don't have a DreamBox yet, but have been reading up in this forum, and am waiting (like many others here) for the 8000.
