I was wondering if a plugin for opendreambox-2.0.0 has been/ can be developed for openelec4 ( xbmc13 ) to stream live tv and EPG.
Similar plugin available is the VU+plugin for enigma2 receivers based on opendreambox-1.6 images.
I am asking since opendreambox-2.0.0 images are closed source images solely built for dreamboxes.

For example a DM8000 could be an ideal " server " streaming live content to openelec clients.
DMM developed partnerbox to stream between two ( opendreambox-2.0.0) boxes, so it should not be such a tough job imho.
Yet I wonder due to the closed source license if DMM is willing to cooperate to get this going, maybe a kickstart project asking a small fee to customers who want this feature so it can be developed for xbmc?

Hallo, es gibt jetzt modulen für ASIX:

    " kernel-module-cdc-ether - 3.2-r14.16.42 - Linux Kernel cdc-ether kernel module; USB CDC Ethernet devices "
    " kernel-module-asix - 3.2-r14.16.42 - Linux Kernel asix kernel module; ASIX AX8817X based USB 2.0 Ethernet "

Aber fünzt leider nicht mit AX88179 ( USB3.0 to 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Controller ) : vielleicht kan DMM Treiber für dieses Produkt verbessern?

Hi - I like to use my DM8000 as a server and therefore it needs to stream to clients which are in this example both enigma2 based.
Since yesterday my DM8000 is running on OE2.0 and my clients ( et9200 and xp1000 ) are equipped with OpenPLI4 and enigma2 plugin " remote channel stream converter ".
However it seems to do the job only partly meaning streaming works fine, but I do neither get a proper time sync nor EPG on the clients and that is annoying, so therefore I wonder if this is a defect in OE2.0 as this worked flawless previously when my DM8000 was still equipped with PLi

ok this shows some interesting thoughts as module " kernel-module-nfsd " is not being downloaded automatically when you execute :

    Code
    opkg update
    opkg install nfs-utils

Guess this is something to add as a dependency for our convenience
After adding the kernel module things start to move finally ...

    Case closed

of course I can telnet and ssh - no problem -

    Code
    ~ $ telnet 192.168.10.11 22
    Trying 192.168.10.11...
    Connected to 192.168.10.11.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    SSH-2.0-dropbear_2012.55
    ^]q

    telnet> q
    Connection closed.

    now nfs:

    Code
    :~# mount -t nfs 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd /media/lan/wd
mount: 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
mount: mounting 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd on /media/lan/wd failed: Bad file descriptor

    :~# mount -t nfs4 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd /media/lan/wd
mount: 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
mount: mounting 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd on /media/lan/wd failed: Bad file descriptor

    And finally:

Hmm I assume there is no firewall active as localhost gives same headache ?

    1/ * or 192.168.10.0/24 did not solve

    2/

    on dm8000:

    Code
    root@dm8000:/media/hdd/dm8000# telnet localhost 4045
telnet: can't connect to remote host (127.0.0.1): Connection refused
    root@dm8000:/media/hdd/dm8000# telnet localhost 2049
telnet: can't connect to remote host (127.0.0.1): Connection refused
    root@dm8000:/media/hdd/dm8000# telnet localhost 1110
telnet: can't connect to remote host (127.0.0.1): Connection refused
    root@dm8000:/media/hdd/dm8000# telnet localhost 111

Hi, installed today " dreambox-image-dm8000-20131014.nfi " on my dm8000 and wanted to set up nfsserver but I am unable to connect to it from my linux clients after executing following commands on my dm8000 ( see below ). Can one hint me so this will work again. TiA!

    opkg update
    opkg install nfs-utils

    vi /etc/exports contains " /media/hdd *(rw,async,nohide,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash) "

    /etc/init.d/nfsserver restart

    stopping mountd: done
    stopping statd: done
    starting mountd: done
starting statd: /usr/sbin/rpc.statd is already running
    654
    done

    /etc/init.d/portmap restart
    /etc/init.d/portmap: line 56: pmap_dump: not found
    Stopping portmap daemon...
    Starting portmap daemon...
    /etc/init.d/portmap: line 56: pmap_set: not found

    exportfs -ra

ps ax | grep -e nfsd -e portmap -e mountd
    20927 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/rpc.mountd -f /etc/exports
    21137 ? Ss 0:00 /sbin/portmap
    21360 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep -e nfsd -e portmap -e mountd

    showmount -e
    Export list for dm8000:
    /media/hdd *

    Clients say:

    :~# mount -a
mount: 192.168.10.11:/media/hdd failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
mount: RPC: Remote system error - No route to host

Hi - Anyone succeeded using a USB2.0 100Mbit Fast Ethernet NIC as a 2nd Ethernet device on a dreambox 8000?
I like to use both the internal adapter as well the 2nd one ( usb ) to be able to stream HD to multiple devices at the same time so I will not have issues ( hickups ) assuming the USB adapter will not take too much CPU power.
Anyone has a list of compatible chipsets?

    Dear dreamobox enthousiastics ( and DR.Best ).

I have at my main location a dm8000 available and remote a dm800. The connection between these over vpn is max 5Mbit, therefore streaming the HD channels definitely do not work with partnerbox as it is available today; simply because HD bitrate is between 10-15Mbit and exceeds the available bandwidth. It would be great if the partnetbox plugin can be extended so it can downsize stream to 5Mbit ( where 0Mbit is unlimited ) when needed, I foresee problems compressing as the dm8000 has a 400cpu mipsel and dm800 has a 300cpu but maybe an external pc ( either linux or windows ) can help out here.

    partnerbox settings would be then:

name: dreambox, ip: 192.168.x.y, port: 80, Enigma-Type: Enigma2, password: xxx, servicelists/epg: use external, zap to service when streaming: no, max thruput: 5 (where 0 is unlimited), use external cpu to downsize ( if needed at all ).

Would such scenario be possible, or things can be done way easier?

Hallo, habe mitterweile Option " Zap to Services when streaming " gefunden!
