I have a DB500s with firmware (Release 1.09) that is not displaying a proper intact picture, the screen is showing some kind of a black shadow and most of the time distorted and flickering picture (as if a constant breaking in signal broadcasted).

I tested the box on another satellite setup but it shows the same problem and tested another receiver on my satellite setup and its working perfectly.

I tried to restore the box to factory default from Expert setup and flash the original firmware again but this didn't fix it.

Can you help me with this problem, could this be a hardware issue? Is there any log that I could examine to troubleshooting this problem?

I noticed that the signal iam getting has a BER (bit error rate) of about 15000 and in many times this is causing a distorted picture, can this be caused by dish misalignment or a faulty LNB?

I noticed that the BER (bit error rate) is very high, about 15600 so i wondering is the signal quality is what is causing this, could it be that the reception is bad or the dish need realignment or maybe a stonger LNB?

I tried the reset to factory default but still this did'nt fix it, i tried to flash erase the box twice but this did'nt wok also.

I read a post on this forum that when you flash an image this only replaces the image "work space" only but the rest of the file system / structure is unchanged so i am suspecting that this could be the issue. is there a way to COMPLEATLY erase the box including the entire file system.

I have a serious issue with my box, after i installed Gemini 3.2 and rebooted my box, i can't get a clear picture, the signal is always breaking up and is distorted. i tried to flash erase the box and then install Gemini 3.30 but i got the same.

I then tried to roolback and install the orginal firmware but its the same, Can you help me on this?

Is there a way to restore the box to its working conditions?
