Seems as though its been a while since I last poised this question, and someone said Q4 of last year was when the 8000 was supposed to come out. Still no 8000...

Any new dates for the 8000 these days?

Was wondering about various linux utilities & services running on a 7025...

Is there a way to get NFS mounts on here, or run Samba?
Also is there a way of running various unix/linux network utilities download'able on the internet on this machine (nmap, apache, etc.)
Is there a specific processor build that needs to be used, if so is there a compiler for building 7025 legit binaries?

Also saw something in the board rules on emulators, "softcams", and "Card sharing"... To make sure I dont get into areas I shouldent be on here, exactly what are these?

So... even a 1/2 terrabyte hitachi HDS725050KLAT80 would work then?
Also, would it matter if the drive is ATA/UDMA133 and the dreambox interface is UDMA66?

k... I know this may wind up being kind of a stupid question, but Ive been looking all over for specs on udma66, and the maximum size of drives used on this type of interface and either this is hard to come by, or Im just looking everywhere but where I need to...

That being said,

Anyone know how big of a drive, and how much I can have in any useable partition ? Also how many partitions will a drive need to be when formatted for linux on this machine?
