    Ghost,

Great! The linear side is flying, I have scanned several sats and it is detecting every single station and even stuff that my other LNBs did not catch before. This LNB is awesome.

Now, the Circular side is not doing it right. I tried the same LNB with a different receiver and it found almost 500 channels on a satellite, but the DB only finds 16. So, something is not right? Can you think of a different setup?

    Thanks for the response man!

Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

When setting up a satellite for scanning, if you select the "advanced.." you need to browse to the bottom of the page and define some values for the LNB. It will ask you for LOF/L, LOF/H and Threshold. But if you are using an LNB such as Invacom QPH-031, http://invacom.com/products/qph_031.htm ,that does not have a Threshold and operates throughtout the range, what do you put in the "Threshold" field?

What is the easiest way to define an NTP server to sync the internal clock with?

So, are you saying that this adapter that I have purchased will not work?

Please look at the middle of the page for "DreamBox Component Video SCART Adapter". I am trying t oconnect this to the component video port of my TV. My DVD player is connected to the second component port of the TV and works fine. But when I switch to the first port and want t owatch my DB7025, all the colors are messed up????

Well, not an immediate need yet. I was fooling around with the kernel and stumbled over this and wanted to make sure that I understand all the aspects of it.

So, basically the SCART port is useless :loudly_crying_face: it is taking some space on the back but has no use !!!!!!

I thought that the board was designed by DMM engineers and if this is the case, why didn't they go throug the design to make sure that all the conenctions and links are correct? this box wasn't exactly cheap either !?!?!?! this is the most expensive unit among my boxes !?!?!? this doesn't make me exactly happy

So, kernel bug? I have nother Linux box here and it is runing Kernel 2.4. Here is what that box says:

    [root@************ root]# more /proc/meminfo

    [root@************ root]# kernelversion
    2.4

So, this box has no problems with accessing 4GB of RAM. I don't know why the DB should have any problems accessing 128MB?

When I check the meminfo this is what I get:
    ------------------------------------------------------
    root@dm7025:~# more /proc/meminfo
    MemTotal: 43916 kB
    MemFree: 1508 kB

so, it looks like there is a total of almost 44MB memory in 7025.
But the data sheet on the main site satates that this unit has 128MB of DDR RAM? why?

your question Is there a tutorial on how to build a multi boot environment? I'd like to have a Compact Flash in my DB and be able to boot with different images to try out various things, but keep the original DMM image intact as a reference. I searched the board, but maybe I have missed it.

3-12 months. Hmmm, what makes it 3 and what makes it 12? Is the HW done and only the SW work left or what?

Ok, fair enough. it looks like it can receive HDTV signals but not display it in the same format :loudly_crying_face:
So, is there anything on the roadmap for HDTV? I have heard about a 8000 model? What is the ETA on that?

So, to be clear, if the signal is in 1080i, will it be scaled to 720 or 480P or just SDTV?
This has been one of the reasons why I bought the box, to watch HDTV ???

Update: I just stumbled over this post: YUV Ausgabe über Scart

it looks like there needs to be a board update to make this work, if I understand correctly with my broken German. :loudly_crying_face:

As a matter of fact the 7025 will not be able to decode other things then mpeg2 BUT it is able to show you a scaled mpeg2-hdtv Picture (i dunno if it still works, but it worked in the past) on your SDTV or to stream mpeg2 hdtv.

    HDTV ist defenitely no "fake".

Reichi, When you say it worked in the past, can you please elaborate why it is not working now in the current release? Is there a problem with it? Can you elaborate on scaled mpeg2-hdtv?

    Thanks!

Why the new stb? if I check the cpuinfo, here is what I get:

    root@dm7025:/# more /proc/cpuinfo

So, it looks like the box can do it, unless there is something else?

Dreamset has a signal meter window and it is a great tool for identifying the satellites if you have a motor and dish. It would be very nice if the DB had this feature built into the software with at leat 20-30 locations to save satellites.
-To make this feature even more advanced, it would be very nice if the SW could ask the motor the current location and print it on screen, do a data base lookup and correlating that with the Lat+Long information which the user has provided, it would then be easy to print the satellites to the East and West of the current dish position. Now the user could just push a button and say goto satellite X or Y.
-A super advanced feature would be to fine tune the signal once the dish is pointed to the satellite in question by checking the signal metrics and peaking them.

    Thank You!

how do you make the DB to understand that the signal is coming from port 2 of a DISEqC switch and it is circular and not linear???
I have gone into the advanced setup menu and filled in all the details as far as the switch and port, etc. but when I scan a sat that is transmitting circular signals, the DB comes back empty. I check the same signal cable with another RCVR and hundereds of channels show up ?

My firmware is this one: "http://tmb.elitedvb.net/dm7025_20060222.nfi". It is on your web site as the latest, that's why I just say latest.
So, should I use the image above or the CVS image?
