    Thank you for your help!

At first, I'm not very sure if I have a monoblock antenna or not, I did not install it. I only know that I have one antenna for both satellites and 8 cables coming out of the antenna to my multiswitch.

Actually, the symptoms I have are quite similar to yours (BER in some situations), but the real problem is that, in some situations, for an unknown reason, the DM-7020 cannot find anymore a channel that it scanned before, displaying the message 'Service not Found'.

Sometimes, it's for an Astra channel, sometimes, it's for an Hotbird channel. When this message is displayed for an Astra channel, if I go to the 'Satfind' menu and look at the signal for Astra, I have BER and the signal cannot be locked. When the message is displayed for an Hotbird channel, in the 'Satfind' menu for Hotbird, I have BER and the signal cannot be locked.

This problem seems to appear only when I zap between channels. Once I can see a channel, if I don't change to another channel, it seems it can be locked indefinitely.

I don't know a lot about satellite antennas but I guess this is linked to a problem in the commands that are sent by the box to the antenna when swithching channels (polarity change, satellite chang, etc). For example, if I'm switching from channel A that I can see perfectly to channel B and then go back to channel A, channel A may not be found anymore so I guess that the antenna did not switch correctly to the configuration that is necessary to lock on channel A.

If I want to see a channel for which the message 'Service not Found' is currently displayed, I need to turn off the box and back on. Rebooting Enigma is not always enough. I also know that turning off the satellite receiver put the multiswitch in standby. So, may be, when restarting, the first command sent by the DreamBox is correctly interpeted by the multiswitch but not all the following ones...

So the question is what's wrong in my system, the DreamBox configuration or the Antenna or the multiswitch configuration ore something else?

    Hello!

I'm trying to configure my new DreamBox 7020 with my satellite antenna in order to receive both Astra (19°2) and Hotbird (13°). However, I cannot find the correct setting so that both Astra and Hotbird signals can be locked and synchronized in the same time!

I've been able to scan services on both satellites but frequently, when I zap to a service that hat been previously found, I receive the message 'Service not Found'. If I zap to other services and go back to the previous one, it can work again or not, I don't know why!

I've tried many configurations but the best I can achieve is always the same, if I go the the menu 'Setup/Satellite Configuration/Satfind', the box always can synch and lock to one satellite at a time but to the other!

I have a standard antenna that has been installed by a profesionnal one year ago. It has a double-head 19°2 / 13° for Astra and Hotbird. Between the antenna and the TV plugs where is connected my DreamBox, there is a Multiswitch Spaun SMS 9401 NF with 9 entries and 4 outputs, each output beeing connected to a TV plug in my house.

This system is working perfectly with 2 standard satellite receivers Humax IRCI-5400Z.

I tried with the DreamBox standard image, and also with a DreamBox 7025 but the problem is always the same...

How can I configure my DreamBox with my installation that seems standard?

    Thank you in advance

Can anybody tell me if the common interface should work on the dm7025 when you put a PCMCIA module and a card that perfectly work in another receiver?

I'm trying to make my TPS Viaccess card work and, since it seems that the 2 dm7025 Dreamcrypt readers are not made for using Viaccess cards, I inserted a standad PCMCIA Viaccess module in the Common Interface but:

    - when I look in the 'Main menu/Setup/Common Interface' menu, it displays a 3rd option 'no module found' and noe of the 'Reset' or 'Init' menu options seems to have any effect!

    - The TPS channels are not decrypted!

    Thank you in advance

    La Chiure,

You are right, the box actually boots but, as long as you are not connected to the TV, you don't see it and you think it's hanging. But, when you connect it to the TV, you see that the wizard is waiting for you!!!

Thank you for your help, I was getting mad with this and I was not imagining at all that everything was normal!

But anyway, I'm disapointed to see the simplified user interface comparing to what I saw in the DM-7020 user manual. Hope things will progress quickly...

It was actually a little simplified!

Actually, I have troubles to access the DreamBox through the network but, sometimes I can and sometimes I cannot! I don't know why! The network cable I use to connect the box to my network perfectly works with other computers so I don't think it's a hardware problem outside the DreamBox.

However, when I can connect to the box, I can flash it again but the result is always the same as first described, it doesn't finish booting and hangs with a blank LCD screen.

When I could connect to the box with the network with Telnet, I also updated the network settings of the box and try using a free fix IP address but it does not help to ensure I can connect to the box, nor does it ensure it finishes booting.

So, obiously, something is going wrong somewhere and this is why I asked if flashing from the serial port would have a better result than flashing through the browser. If not, I hope I will be able to "better" flash the box through serial port but I'm still trying to find a null modem serial cable. If the result would be the same, I will need to find an other solution than just flashing the box.

I already made several hours of trials around this and starts to get mad!

Is it possible that the box has a hardware problem?

Thank you in advance for any support...

But is the result of flashing the box the same if made through the network with a browser or directly with a nullmodem cable?

If not, wha't the difference between the 2 ways of doing it?

I received my new DM-7025 yesterday. I installed it, quickly tested it and was quite disapointed: Compared to what I saw on the DM-7020 user manual, 7025 User Manual and OSD menus seems to be quite simplified! But things appeared to work fine.

So, I decided to flash the unit with the last firmware (dm7025_20060116_3.nfi) that I downloaded to my PC. When I stopped the boot process, (pressing on the front panel 'Down' key), I could not get an IP address. The messages 'dhcp...' and '*** STOP ***' were displayed but no address was found. I tried many times and finally it worked, I don't know why!

So, I finally flashed my unit through my PC browser. Apparently, everything worked well, 100% of the flash process was completed and the message on the left of the progress bar indicated 'finished'.

So, I turned off the unit and restarted it.

However, since that moment, I have 2 problems:

    1) The DM-7025 refuses to boot. At first, the LCD displays the message 'BOOT #41 20060116'. Secondly, it displays 'dhcp...' and '/flash/vmlinux.gz' and, after a moment, it displays nothing anymore but stays illuminated. If I wait, nothing happens, even after 5 or 10 minutes, and I cannot turn the unit off using the unit's 'Off' button!

    2) When stopping the boot process, I cannot obtain an IP address. The messages 'dhcp...' and '*** STOP ***' are displayed but no address is found!

Help would be welcomed! I saw some threads that seems to concern this subject but I don't understand German!

    Thank you in advance!
