CodeTextEditWindow wnd(_("Enter new Filename:"),"abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890 -_äöüÄÖÜ");
So sieht das z.B. im Editor vom mc aus. -

I'd suggest you'll wait for the reseller's answer.
Guessing around won't lead to anything - at least the "invalid SMART checksum" does not sound sooo good to me
-
Hmm, looks like some defective component to me - can't tell if its the disc or the box itself.
-
"ipkg install smartmontools" should do the trick if you dreambox can reach the outer world.
But it depends on the image you are using. The default images have the correct entries in /etc/ipkg/official-feed.conf to reach our feed server.
-
Hmm, dunno what's going wrong there.
Did you give "smartctl -a /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/" a chance already?
The "Model Number: RT2160022ABE" seems somewhat odd to me. Maybe the disc's electronics (or the box) is faulty.
-
try:
mount -t ext3 /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 /media/hdd/
Mounting the pyhsical disc is not a good idea

By using DreamUp with a nullmodem cable (and optionally: network), you can always recover a 7020 - as long as the hardware is not faulty.

Hmm, good point. I'll add a message to DreamUp and we'll have some notes added to the webpage.
It's always the same story - things seem obvious to a developer, but not to a customer

latebird:
DreamUp always needs a serial connection to the box. It uses it's own 2nd stage loader which is transferred via null modem cable.
After uploading and booting that own 2nd stage, DreamUp starts to use the network (if selected) to speed up the procedure. Flashing via null modem calbe only is also possible, but *much* slower.
-
That applies to the network cable only. What about the nullmodem cable? This one is not used for ftp or any other network transports.
-
Seems like you are talking about some 3rd party images/plugins - sorry, but we don't support that.
This is the manufacturer's forum and only our original firmware is supported here.
-
Well, they are getting warm - no question. But the values are insde the specs and were tested, nothing to be really worried about (as long as the case doens't start to melt of course ;)).

After the box has booted into linux, you can't flash it anymore. This has to be done using DreamUp or via the web interface from the so called 2nd stage bootloader (the "thing" that says "DHCP" if you press the down arrow).
So if you don't have any DHCP server in your network (e.g. a router), you should check the nullmodem cable and use DreamUp to flash a newer software.
