SOLVED:
This issue appears only one one of my CAM's , it seems to work slightly hotter than the other.
Both CAM's seems to work fine in FloppyDTV tuners, but only one work fine in DM900 - this could be explained as simple as a thermal design of the CAM slot, or minor voltage difference (within tolerances) or even ripple /capacitors on the VCC supply for the card that draws more power (dissipate more heat)

In any case, the issue were related to one particular CAM module. (both are official Conax modules, but one is older than the other)

So, my DM900 with 2x DVB-S2 tuners (two LNB connections) will never be able to recond/watch two different scrambled channels on different transponders ?
if so, I must have misunderstood something when ordering..

I were able to receive more than one channel instantly - however, while zapping (and recording) I suddenly got a black screen on other transponders.
Do you know if there are is any config needed to make both use CI ?
(both tuners are connected to the same LNB, one of then is "same as...")

Or: is there a way to test both (tune a channel with a particular tuner)
- I have no reason to believe the cable /LNB output to the second tuner was to blame, I saw 16db and black screen while recording, and assume it indicates good signal on the tuner.

In older hardware I used, I needed to specify that it could ask the CI/CAM for >1 stream at once.
I find that dreambox goes black if already decoding a stream (even if on same transponder)
- maybe it's related to that ?

I don't think its our job to educate (or defend) the support.
anyway, options are:
-ask for more info
-tell me to try another CAM/CI
-tell me to test CM/CI in other hardware
-tell me that they never seen a case like this, and doubt it's the box/software

there are plenty of options other than just closing the case, .. basically flipping off the customer.

In any case: Yesterday I swapped the CAM (in my previous setup, I had two FloppyDTV's with two CAM's - never knowing which one we used the most.)
It's been running steady for the last >12hours ... there could be some connection/thermal issue with one CAM - hopefully it's good now.

Kind of good to know they are not out of business.
Holiday is a reason I would understand to cause no response/delay, but just closing the cases within 24h, marking them as "closed successful" is no good.
I can wait a week or so, maybe another employee that actually does his job will take a case then.

I will test, .. also , there is no "+" on my CAM's -they are at least >5 years old - so no chance for nasty stuff like that

I googled "CI+" (what a ripoff, no recording means no timeshifting... basically they are saying "bend over" to Netherlands users.)

Anyway: there is no such thing in Norway, on the contrary, we are free to use any tuner or TV we like, so long we have the subscription.

I am currently trying to test what activity causes it to be unstable , if I don't get any wiser, I'll fire up a computer with FloppyDTV tuner and record over a night just to retest the CI, CAM.
It seems like noone can confirm existence of such bug, which is kind of good.

the CI module (/Smartcard) is authentic norwegian CanalDigital module, the CAM, is a proper Conax module, again, purchased for the purpose of CanalDigital.
No parts is fake/pirated or in any way less trustworthy.

*both* CI/CAM worked flawlessly in previous tuner, In fact, I've never seen an playing /recording channel just stop like this before.

Another strong clue that this is somehow Dreambox/software related is the fact that this is much less likely to happen if the dreambox have been restarted recently. (just software reboot from the menu) - but we can't be expected to reboot it regularly every day as it is not good as long as 24hrs, a reboot apparently reduces the chances for this, but it seems activity like switching channels/on/off etc increases the likelihood of the issue to spawn again.

tried to get proper support, and got a rude/useless case-closed-successfully;
Dreambox support is just closing cases , ignoring them. Is dreambox going out of business ?

I reopened the first case , reminding that I got no answer .. it got closed the same way day after. Is that standard Dreambox / German customer support ?

The very same CAM and CI module in a computer with tuner card never had such problem.

The box is fully responsive, using remote control works as normal - menus and OSD work, I can switch to another channel and back to revive TV.
Also, I can turn it on/off to make it work again.

Needless to say, the random problem is a total showstopper when timeshifted (as you will loose contents) - I also believe that can be the reason for at least one much too short recording..

I am rescanning with new satellites.xml as I write this.
Are you saying that both issues are something for https://dreambox.de/en/support ?
I did ask some questions using "Ticketsystem" several weeks ago, never got an reply.
If you suggest to use them, is it because there is a known issue with recording+watching ?

I can gladly update the satellites list like you describe.

Can I expect that it to fix anything ? I can see the channels just fine as is, AFAIK it's only the name that is old. My dish points to ~ 0.9°W

Also, I did receive a few dreambox updates since it was new three weeks ago, how come the official updates does not update that file ?

I have two LNB s connected to two inputs.
Also, for good measure, I scanned both tuners.

Config:
Tuner A1 : Single Thor2,3(0.9W)
Tuner A2 : Single Thor2,3(0.9W)

Both scanned all channels..
Later config:

Tuner A1 : Single Thor2,3(0.9W)
Tuner A2 : equal to Tuner A1

In both cases, if a recording is going on, then I cannot tune any TV channel, (no audio/video) - not even the one that is being recorded.

where is the CropssEPG source / developer community ? is it one of those at github ?
I did not find a "proper" way to get dvbsnoop, not knowing if I needed a DreamOS package , or just grab a tarball from sourceforge, or it it needed to be compiled on the box, a clue please ?

regarding the .conf files: where can I find information for:

summaries_pids=

how are proper values determined, and what do they represent ?
