I did buy the 7080 as an upgrade for my dm8000.

I must say, im disappointed.

Its fast yes, very fast.and use less power= quiet

But that is only upgrade over my dm8000.

Many Things still don't Work.

main reason i did buy the dm7080 over the vu+duo2 was the hdmi in/out, but it doesn't Work.
the dlna server does not Work, it will surly over time.
recording timer, not stable, software issue, that will be fixed over time

I just think they should have waited 6 month to release the dm7080, then maybe it would work as supposed .

if I could do things over, I would have sticked with my dm8000, im sorry I sold the dm8000.

my guess is it wont come before Things starting to Work as planed

What is MUCH more interesting then HDMI passtrough would be to Transocde the input ... which is the reason why I'm patient to wait ... as this would be a much nicer feature with lots of ... possibilities.

But in my house it would matter a lot.
I got 1 hdmi going upstairs, and this way I could have my atv3 or ps4 connected to my dm7080, and benefit of 2 units upstairs...
It was the part that did the last in my choosing of which reciver to buy.

Before on my dm8000, it worked perfect, but only scart, this way I could do it with hdmi.

And I just don't get it, if it is a simple hdmi pass trough, why is it not working then?
im afraid it is hardware fault, but only time will tell.

Only upgrade over my dm8000 is speed, but there is more downgrade in it in my book sadly.
Hope it all work out in the end

Just cant accept you can sell a prioduct with features promised that is not available.
If I did buy it in Denmark, I would return it to dealer, but I did buy it from germany

I tried the code with telnet
I have my apple tv connected to hdmi in, and enter the code.
The picture disappears , but turns to pink screen, not apple tv, but pink screen.

Can you get real picture by use your code? or same result as with me.
im still afraid of hardware failure, and maybe its why they haven't activated it in the menu

I am afraid it is hardware issue.
I think, if hardware is ready, it shouldn't be hard to implant the software switch to select the input?

On my dm8000, it is long press power, then I can select input, but not possible on the dm7080...

waited 2 month now.

I am a little frustrated.
I did buy the 7080, one of reason was the hdmi in, think it is awesome, and just what I need.

But cant get it to work, and read others have same problem.

Now 2 month later, still not working

Question, Does it work for any?

Will it ever work, I think, if hardware works, why not working?

I really need that hdmi in, if not, I would have bought the vu+2duo2 instead....

I cant get dlna to Work with anything

I tried with both smart tv, windows medieplayer in windows 7, from ps4...

Does it work from anything, please tell, I used so much time to try to get it to work.

I can see the files and channel list, but keep say file system not supported?
even when I try to play mkv files I put on my dm7080, still not support file system, and both the tv and dm7080 can play the same file normal...just not over dlna when dm7080 is host?

i have now tried to acess from windows media player ( PC)
it finds the dreambox, but cant play either

Does any one got DLNA server on dreambox working?

And my Panasonic see the dreambox server, see my channel list and see the files.

First, thx for all the help i already received here.

I got my dm 7080, with merlin 4, it runs perfect.

However, i got problems with DLNA server.

I would like to use the dlna server, I can see it should be possible with livestreams, recordings and to share mediefiles over dlna.

I have started dlna server, and I have made a folder named " MKV"

When I start my Panasonic with medieplayer.
The Panasonic find the dreambox, and I choose between livestreams, recordings and the files I put in my MKV folder.
So far so good.

But my Panasonic keep saying unsupported filetype, on both the livestream, recordings and even the mkv files I put in my MKV folder.

The same mkvfiles work when my Panasonic plays from my nas server.

I would like it all to work.
But for start , I could settle with just working with the MKV files.
Would be so sweet if that worked.

My brother in love, got a VU+2Duo2 , he can do it all, recordings,live stream...

Quistion , do it work for any of you?

I just got my wonderfull dm7080, its getting better and better.

but I am confused.

on dream-multimedia.de it says the box got 2 gb ram ,and 4 gb flash

but when I press info in menu on dreambox, it says 1 gb flash, 636mb aviable ?
and somewere else I saw 1 gb ram.

What is true? and why it shows only 1gb ram and 1 gb flash, when dream-multimedia says 2 gb ram, and 4 gb flash?

the big flash and ram, is part why I did buy dm7080 over the vu+2duo

I did keep struggle with install from the dreambox.

how do I install it then?

I tried put it in tmp folder, and go to " Install local extension" ( I use Danish - so only close)
but when I try this way, it don't see my xxxxx.deb files , only my xxxxx.ipk files?
