It is this SSL I am trying to flash on the box. And still failing.
I know I must upgrade bootloader before I can flash a newer image.

I ran Putty. Logfile attached. Hopefully you or somebody get any meaningfull out of it.
My 500 HD is not modified with the USB PCB mentioned in post # 17.
So I have nothing than power cable and tha USB-cable to the service port.
I dont quite get what you mean by making a log.
As I said in first post. I have tried this on Win 8, Win 7 and Win XP, same result no matter what PC I am using.
I have used the same cable as I am on my 800 SE, same result regarding LAN.
Have also disabled both firewall and Avast. Same result.
Led is constant green when starting up, then som rapid blinks while DreamUp is initiating HTTP mode, after that constant green.
I can set the box IP to whatever I want. It is not registeredby my router, nor in browser.
Only diference is when I connect without LAN it says "box is in serial HTTP mode"
When I connect with LAN it says "box is in networked HTTP mode"
Same result when trying to flash tough.
I am trying to flash SSL 84 first.
I connected the box to my router by LAN-cable.
Startet the box in bootloader mode.
On my TV it says as follows:
--------------------------------------------
Product: DM500 HD
Bootloader Version: Build #80, built 20101014
MAC Address: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX (scrambled by me)
Network Type: dhcp
IP Address: 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Link: FAIL

Tried downloading DreamEnum, but it could not find my box.
I am running an old version of PeterPan, Norvegian developed image.
I am trying to get it to run a newer image. Also since ethernetport does not work, I have to get a USB PCB for it.
http://sundtek.com/shop/Digita…oxid/DM500HD-USB-PCB.html
This way i can run memory expander, WLAN by USB and so on.
If i dont get to flash it by serviceport, this is like a paperweight.
Does this mean you want me to connect 500 to my router?
I cannot see what good this wil do, since it will not get IP from the router.
Otherwise your post was a bit confusing.
Ob du einfach schreiben, kannst du Deutch schreiben. Ich verstehe besser als ich schreibe.
I also have googled this problem, it seems I am not alone experiencing this.
But no solution.
If you are referring to the box, it has only power and the USB-cable in the service port connected.
Network does not work, therefor not connected.
There are no USB connectors on a standard 500 HD.
Onlye external sSata connector, also not connected.
Have tried enable recover bad sectors, but same result as before.
Most of the time it stops on calculating checksum.
Now and then I got the error pasted in post #4
So I am still stuck.
Forgot to mention.
In meantime i found 1.3.3.11 from dreamboxupdate. Same result here.
Should i try the option fix bad sectors? It says I only should if support here says so.
I kind of figured that, but still the same when trying to flash SSL 84.
Cam a bit further, but got a new error.
"14:13:54 box type: DM500HD
14:14:07 Calculating checksum...
14:14:08 Got wrong response from box: HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request
Content-Type: text/plain
Server: secondstage/84
Cache-Control: no-cache
Connection: close
lcd: *** SERIAL MODE ***"
This was when I tried uploading DMM image.
Bootloader on the box is SSL 80.
I am using V 1.3.3.9 from dream-multimedia.de
Have tried auto configuration on network.
LAN Adapter and DHCP check ok. Local network, IP-address and Nameserver is failing.
Have tried several different settings.
My 800 HD SE works fine on my network.
Have found various older versions while searching, but same result.
I am using DreamUp with network disabled.
Hi all.
Been looking trough this part of the forum for answer, but no luck.
I have a DM 500 HD with a broken ethernet port. I can not get IP.
It has an old Peter Pan image on it.
I would like to reflash it with newer image.
Have to use DreamUp. But there are problems.
Have installed proper drivers.
It end up in "calculating checksum" Been waiting for hours, but nothing happening.
Have tried different computers. Win 8, Win 7 and Win XP. Same result on all.
I am using standard settings in port settings and so on. Is it a way to tweak theese settings?
Or anything else I could try.
Have checked the box with pictures of genuine boxes and clones. In my opinion this is genuine.
