Thank you nuser, this finally throws a bit of light for solving the problem.
From my point of view here is what i understand from this:
1) We have to build a plugin that tunes the channel
2) The plugin needs to use ffmpeg for adapting the audio
3) And then plays it from the streaming URL
Not sure about all the details but this seems to be a way to go.
I don't really understand the change in Streaming.py... can you please explain a bit more the reason for this?
you or any other have to write a plugin ( either overwrite the zapping routine oder use a hook ( eventlistener ) ) ..
the second part should also be done with a plugin.
And about this, can you give us more information, or link to an example for making this hook?
It will be better to just modify the zapping routine of the box, this way users don't need to open a plugin for watching TV.

Alles anzeigenDD has good lawyers, so hacking something will not get anybody fortune and fame.
But if you can argue that you only produce stereo out of the data without the need to license their algo the legal argument maybe would dissapear.
And there is some compatibilty to standard DD in their stream which means the chance is not 0 that this would be possible in Software which is then not transcoding.
But this was only a question, NOT an offer for help.
This is a little bit like Rubiks cube - of you don't start turning you will never solve the puzzle.
But I'm fully aware that ramming a concrete wall multiply doesn' get you a working car.

I have the personal experience that sometimes ignoring parts or a problem and solving all other parts can have amazing effects.
I build recently the firs ubifs extraction tool on this Planet just by ignoring the complexity until it was done.

Because this are multiple problems, as technical one, a license one, a legal one, a usability one,...
Hi Gutemine. Thnks for your interest. Really all dreambox users in spain are concerned for this. We spent a lot of money to buy a dreambox receiver. Really I allways defended dreambox, great receivers, great support, guaranteed quality. So strange this passivity to the problem we have many users in Spain.
If I understand correctly you say thant we could transcode de DD+ to another codec available in dreambox? Thnx and regards.

Hi. I'm a dm 8000 user for a few years. So far I have been very pleased with my receiver but now I've a problem. The SAT TV company to which I subscribe starts emitting with DD+ codec and my dm8000 doesn't play sound. Any solution for this? I spent a lot of money to buy this excellent receiver.
