Many thanks. Can I then use USB cable in stead of a null modem cable to connect to the DM?

Hi Friends,

My DreamUp software wouldn't even start on my laptop because it says "can't find any COM port".

I have a pretty good laptop and I'm sure there can be done something. Do I have to do something in my Laptop's setup to enable a COM port and reroute it to any of the USB ports? Can I then upgrade the firmware of my DM800HDPVR by this?
