Dreambox Remote RC20 FAQ

Professional button and function guide

This guide uses the English button labels and function mappings from the Dreambox Play Guide project. Each physical button on the RCU 20 is listed exactly once.

Available actions may depend on the active area, such as the Android TV launcher, Live TV/info bar, channel list, playback, search or recordings list.

Types of operation:

**Short press:** Performs the normal primary action.

**Long press:** Performs an additional action where one is defined.

**Button combination:** Two buttons are pressed and held together.

System and media buttons:

- Mute

Mutes the audio output completely. Press the button again to restore the previous audio output. This function is available throughout the main areas of Dreambox Play.

- Google Assistant

Activates Google Assistant and the microphone in the RCU 20. You can then search for content, open or control apps and ask questions using your voice.

- Power

**Short press:** Puts Dreambox Play into standby.

**Long press:** Opens the restart menu.

This button controls the device through software. It does not replace the hardware power switch on Dreambox Play.

- Rewind

Rewinds a film, series or recording that is currently playing. Press and hold to rewind faster where supported by the playback area.

- Play / Pause

Starts playback, pauses it or resumes paused playback. During Live TV, pausing also starts timeshift so that the programme can be resumed later.

- Fast forward

Fast-forwards a film, series or recording that is currently playing. Press and hold to fast-forward more quickly where supported.

- REC

**Live TV, short press:** Starts recording the current programme.

**Live TV, long press:** Starts catch-up.

**Channel list:** Schedules a recording for the selected programme.

- Stop

Stops the current playback or an active recording. The square physical button is identified unambiguously as **Stop** throughout this guide.

- TXT

Opens teletext or the subtitle selection during Live TV. During film, series or recording playback, it opens the subtitles menu.

Coloured buttons:

The coloured buttons perform context-dependent actions. Their exact behaviour is determined by the area that is currently open.

- Red

**Channel list:** Opens the source picker.

**Film and series list:** Opens source selection.

**Recordings:** Switches to the recordings list.

- Green

**Channel list:** Opens bouquet selection.

**Film and series list:** Activates grid view.

**Recordings:** Shows scheduled recordings.

- Yellow

**Channel list:** Shows the channels in the selected bouquet.

**Film and series list:** Activates list view.

- Blue

Opens or filters favourites in the channel list and the film and series list.

Information, navigation and selection:

- INFO

Shows detailed information about the currently selected content:

**Live TV/info bar:** Information about the current programme.

**Channel list:** Information about the selected channel.

**Film and series list:** Film or series information.

**Recordings list:** Programme information for the selected recording.

- Settings

**Android TV launcher and Live TV:** Opens settings.

**Info bar:** Opens the associated settings.

**Channel list, film/series list, search and recordings list:** Opens the context-sensitive quick menu.

- Up

Moves the selection up in menus, settings, search and lists. In the info bar, it opens the channel list. In the internal Live TV menu, it navigates to the previous channel.

- Down

Moves the selection down in menus, settings, search and lists. In the info bar, it opens the channel list. In the internal Live TV menu, it navigates to the next channel.

- Left

Moves the selection to the left. During Live TV or in the info bar, it changes to the previous channel. In the channel list and recordings list, it leads to the main menu on the left.

- Right

Moves the selection to the right. During Live TV or in the info bar, it changes to the next channel. In the channel list, it opens the selected main-menu entry; in the recordings list, it leads to recording selection.

- OK

Confirms the current selection and provides additional context-dependent actions:

**Android TV launcher, short press:** Opens the selected app or item.

**Android TV launcher, long press:** Enables moving the selected item.

**Live TV, short press:** Shows the info bar.

**Live TV, long press:** Shows the full info bar.

**Info bar:** Confirms the selected channel.

**Channel list, settings and search:** Confirms the selection.

**Channel-number input:** Switches to the entered channel.

**Playback:** Shows or hides the info bar.

**Recordings list:** Starts playing the selected recording.

- AUDIO

Opens the list of available audio tracks. During playback, the audio output mode can also be selected when multiple options are available.

- Mouse

Turns the mouse pointer in Android TV on or off. This is useful for apps whose interfaces are not fully optimised for remote-control operation.

Volume, Back, Home and channel buttons:

- Volume +

Raises the playback volume. The button is available during Live TV/info bar, playback, film/series lists, search and the recordings list.

- Volume −

Lowers the playback volume. The button is available during Live TV/info bar, playback, film/series lists, search and the recordings list.

- Back

Returns to the previous view or closes the current menu, list or dialog.

**Live TV, long press:** Quits the app.

**Info bar, long press:** Opens the exit menu.

**Channel-number input:** Cancels the input.

**Search:** Closes search.

**Hold together with Home for about five seconds:** Starts Bluetooth pairing if the wireless connection to the RCU 20 has been lost.

- Home

Opens the Android TV home screen regardless of the area that is currently open.

**Hold together with Back for about five seconds:** Starts Bluetooth pairing if the wireless connection to the RCU 20 has been lost.

- Channel +

**Live TV info bar:** Moves to the next channel in history.

**Internal Live TV mode:** Moves to the previous channel in history.

**Channel list:** Jumps directly to the top of the list.

- Channel −

**Live TV info bar:** Moves to the previous channel in history.

**Internal Live TV mode:** Moves to the next channel in history.

**Channel list:** Jumps directly to the end of the list.

Number buttons:

All number buttons can be used to enter a channel number directly during Live TV. Several buttons provide additional skip actions during playback.

- 0

Enters digit **0** for direct channel selection. During Live TV, it also moves

to the previous category.

- 1

Enters digit **1** for direct channel selection. During playback, it skips **15 seconds back**.

- 2

Enters digit **2** for direct channel selection.

- 3

Enters digit **3** for direct channel selection. During playback, it skips **15 seconds forward**.

- 4

Enters digit **4** for direct channel selection. During playback, it skips **1 minute back**.

- 5

Enters digit **5** for direct channel selection.

- 6

Enters digit **6** for direct channel selection. During playback, it skips **1 minute forward**.

- 7

Enters digit **7** for direct channel selection. During playback, it skips **5 minutes back**.

- 8

Enters digit **8** for direct channel selection.

- 9

Lower special buttons:

- Bookmark

Opens the context-sensitive quick menu. This function is available in Live

TV/info bar, the channel list, film and series list and recordings list.

- Portal

Opens the portal or moves to the next category during Live TV.

Professionelle Tasten- und Funktionsbeschreibung

Diese Dokumentation verwendet die deutschen Tastenbezeichnungen und Funktionszuordnungen aus dem Projekt **Dreambox Play Guide**. Jede physische Taste der RC20 wird genau einmal aufgeführt.

Die verfügbare Funktion kann vom aktuell geöffneten Bereich abhängen, zum Beispiel vom Android-TV-Launcher, von Live TV/Infobar, Kanalliste, Wiedergabe, Suche oder Aufnahmeliste.

Bedienarten:

**Kurz drücken:** Führt die normale Hauptfunktion aus.

**Lang drücken:** Ruft – sofern für die Taste definiert – eine zusätzliche Funktion auf.

**Tastenkombination:** Zwei Tasten werden gleichzeitig gedrückt gehalten.

System- und Medientasten:

- Stumm

Schaltet die Tonausgabe vollständig stumm. Ein erneuter Tastendruck stellt die vorherige Tonausgabe wieder her. Die Funktion ist in allen zentralen Bereichen der Dreambox Play verfügbar.

- Google Assistant

Aktiviert den Google Assistant und das Mikrofon der RC20. Anschließend können Inhalte per Sprache gesucht, Apps geöffnet oder gesteuert und allgemeine Fragen gestellt werden.

- Power

**Kurz drücken:** Versetzt die Dreambox Play in den Standby-Modus.

**Lang drücken:** Öffnet das Neustart-Menü.

Die Taste schaltet das Gerät softwareseitig. Sie ersetzt nicht den Hardware-Netzschalter der Dreambox Play.

- Zurückspulen

Spult innerhalb einer laufenden Film-, Serien- oder Aufnahmewiedergabe zurück. Bei langem Drücken wird – sofern vom Wiedergabebereich unterstützt – das schnelle Zurückspulen aktiviert.

### Play / Pause

Startet eine Wiedergabe, pausiert sie oder setzt eine pausierte Wiedergabe fort. Bei Live TV startet die Pause-Funktion gleichzeitig Timeshift, damit die Sendung zeitversetzt fortgesetzt werden kann.

- Vorspulen

Spult innerhalb einer laufenden Film-, Serien- oder Aufnahmewiedergabe vor. Bei langem Drücken wird – sofern unterstützt – das schnelle Vorspulen aktiviert.

- REC

**Live TV, kurz drücken:** Startet eine Aufnahme der laufenden Sendung.

**Live TV, lang drücken:** Startet Catchup.

**Kanalliste:** Plant eine Aufnahme für die ausgewählte Sendung.

- Stop

Beendet die laufende Wiedergabe beziehungsweise stoppt eine aktive Aufnahme. Die quadratische physische Taste wird in dieser Übersicht eindeutig als **Stop** bezeichnet.

- TXT

Öffnet bei Live TV den Teletext beziehungsweise die Untertitelauswahl. Während einer Film-, Serien- oder Aufnahmewiedergabe öffnet die Taste das Untertitel-Menü.

Farbtasten:

Die Farbtasten führen kontextabhängige Aktionen aus. Ihre genaue Funktion richtet sich nach dem aktuell geöffneten Bereich.

- Rot

- **Kanalliste:** Öffnet die Quellen.

- **Film- und Serienliste:** Öffnet die Quellenauswahl.

- **Aufnahmen:** Wechselt zur Aufnahmeliste.

- Grün

- **Kanalliste:** Öffnet die Bouquet-Auswahl.

- **Film- und Serienliste:** Aktiviert die Grid-Ansicht.

- **Aufnahmen:** Zeigt die geplanten Aufnahmen.

- Gelb

- **Kanalliste:** Zeigt die Kanäle des ausgewählten Bouquets.

- **Film- und Serienliste:** Aktiviert die Listenansicht.

- Blau

Öffnet beziehungsweise filtert die Favoriten in der Kanalliste und in der Film- und Serienliste.

Information, Navigation und Auswahl:

- INFO

Zeigt Detailinformationen zum aktuell ausgewählten Inhalt:

**Live TV/Infobar:** Informationen zur laufenden Sendung.

**Kanalliste:** Informationen zum ausgewählten Kanal.

**Film- und Serienliste:** Film- oder Serieninformationen.

**Aufnahmeliste:** Sendungsinformationen der ausgewählten Aufnahme.

- Einstellungen

**Android-TV-Launcher und Live TV:** Öffnet die Einstellungen.

**Infobar:** Öffnet die zugehörigen Einstellungen.

**Kanalliste, Film-/Serienliste, Suche und Aufnahmeliste:** Öffnet das kontextbezogene Schnellmenü.

- Hoch

Bewegt die Auswahl in Menüs, Einstellungen, Suche und Listen nach oben. In der Infobar öffnet die Taste die Kanalliste. Im internen Live-TV-Menü dient sie zum Navigieren zum vorherigen Kanal.

- Runter

Bewegt die Auswahl in Menüs, Einstellungen, Suche und Listen nach unten. In der Infobar öffnet die Taste die Kanalliste. Im internen Live-TV-Menü dient sie zum Navigieren zum nächsten Kanal.

- Links

Bewegt die Auswahl nach links. Bei Live TV beziehungsweise in der Infobar wechselt die Taste zum vorherigen Kanal. In der Kanalliste und Aufnahmeliste führt sie zum linken Hauptmenü.

- Rechts

Bewegt die Auswahl nach rechts. Bei Live TV beziehungsweise in der Infobar wechselt die Taste zum nächsten Kanal. In der Kanalliste öffnet sie den markierten Hauptmenü-Eintrag; in der Aufnahmeliste führt sie zur Aufnahmeauswahl.

- OK

Bestätigt die aktuelle Auswahl und besitzt abhängig vom Bereich weitere Funktionen:

**Android-TV-Launcher, kurz drücken:** Öffnet die ausgewählte App oder das ausgewählte Element.

**Android-TV-Launcher, lang drücken:** Aktiviert das Verschieben eines Elements.

**Live TV, kurz drücken:** Zeigt die Infobar.

**Live TV, lang drücken:** Zeigt die vollständige Infobar.

**Infobar:** Bestätigt den ausgewählten Kanal.

**Kanalliste, Einstellungen und Suche:** Bestätigt die Auswahl.

**Kanalnummer-Eingabe:** Schaltet auf den eingegebenen Kanal um.

**Wiedergabe:** Zeigt oder verbirgt die Infobar.

**Aufnahmeliste:** Startet die ausgewählte Aufnahme.

- AUDIO

Öffnet die Auswahl der verfügbaren Audiospuren. Während der Wiedergabe kann zusätzlich die Audioausgabeart gewählt werden, sofern mehrere Optionen verfügbar sind.

- Maus

Aktiviert oder deaktiviert den Mauszeiger in Android TV. Die Funktion ist für Apps vorgesehen, deren Oberfläche nicht vollständig für die Bedienung mit einer Fernbedienung optimiert ist.

Lautstärke, Zurück, Home und Kanal:

- Lautstärke +

Erhöht die Wiedergabelautstärke. Die Taste ist unter anderem bei Live TV/Infobar, während der Wiedergabe sowie in Film-/Serienliste, Suche und Aufnahmeliste verfügbar.

- Lautstärke −

Verringert die Wiedergabelautstärke. Die Taste ist unter anderem bei Live TV/Infobar, während der Wiedergabe sowie in Film-/Serienliste, Suche und Aufnahmeliste verfügbar.

- Zurück

Kehrt zur vorherigen Ansicht zurück oder schließt das aktuelle Menü, die aktuelle Liste beziehungsweise einen geöffneten Dialog.

**Live TV, lang drücken:** Beendet die App.

**Infobar, lang drücken:** Öffnet das Beenden-Menü.

**Kanalnummer-Eingabe:** Bricht die Eingabe ab.

**Suche:** Schließt die Suche.

**Zusammen mit Home etwa fünf Sekunden halten:** Startet die Bluetooth-Kopplung der RC20, wenn die Funkverbindung verloren wurde.

- Home

Öffnet den Android-TV-Startbildschirm unabhängig vom aktuell geöffneten Bereich.

**Zusammen mit Zurück etwa fünf Sekunden halten: Startet die Bluetooth-Kopplung der RC20, wenn die Funkverbindung verloren wurde.

-Kanal +

**Live-TV-Infobar:** Wechselt zum nächsten Kanal im Verlauf.

Zifferntasten:

Alle Zifferntasten dienen bei Live TV zur direkten Eingabe einer Kanalnummer. Während der Wiedergabe besitzen mehrere Zifferntasten zusätzliche Sprungfunktionen.

Gibt die Ziffer **0** für die direkte Kanalwahl ein. Bei Live TV wechselt die Taste zusätzlich zur vorherigen Kategorie.

- 1

Gibt die Ziffer **1** für die direkte Kanalwahl ein. Während der Wiedergabe springt die Taste **15 Sekunden zurück**.

- 2

Gibt die Ziffer **2** für die direkte Kanalwahl ein.

- 3

Hier in diesem Thread geht es um das AIO und nicht um Gemecker über open oder closed oder gutemine ans Bein pinkeln oder nicht

Ich spreche im allgemeinen, und für keine Firmengeschichte.

Erst recht nicht für eine vergangene Firmengeschichte des alten Inhabers der Marke Dreambox.
Daher mit den Worten zu beschreiben: "Es steht eigentlich Niemandem zu auf andere herabzusehen" - wenn man nicht wirklich weiß was in der Vergangenheit war.
Firmen und Inhaber kommen und gehen, aber die Marke Dreambox und die großartige Community ist bisher geblieben und wird weiter bestehen.

Wünschenswert wäre es wenn man immer direkt und klar irgendwas kommuniziert, so dass die Menschheit das auch direkt sofort versteht.
