DM7025 Boot Problem

  • Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

    Box type: DM7025S
    GUI (enigma1/enigma2):?
    Firmware version: Several...

As others also has decribed in other posts, I have problem with my DM7025S. I just received it, and when I first started up, it stopped at:

    DHCP
    /flash/vmlinux.gz

Even when left for a along time, nothing happened (I have a DHCP server in my network, works fine for other unit, and the connection is OK, have tested the cable with other units.) I then managed to log in with connected with nullmodem cable (both via hyperterminal and the latest drembox updater), and updated firmware, same status, also with other older firmware versions. I also have set IP manual, still no connection via network. But the biggest problem is of course that I get no picture on my screen of any kind. I have tried changing video format from default to both RGB and S-video. (I'm usiung scart, but has also tried all other outputs). I only get "noise", vertical stripes.

I have tried reading through all other posts, but it feels like I've tried everything... Does anyone have any good suggestions, something I can do with the setup menu or anything else? As I am new to the dreambox, there's plenty of things I don't know yet, but I'm getting a bit frustrated, not even being able to get it started. By the way, I installed a hard disk, but removing that one again didn't help.

  • Hi,

I just got my dm7025 and have the same problems with it. It never started and stops with the message dhcp... /flash/vmlinux.gz on the display. I tried to flash the newest firmware, but did not solve the problem. I also tried an other image from [Moderator] Link is in violation of the Boardrules [/Moderator] but did not work also. The dreamup software is only working with serial. I can't connect to the box over ethernet, dhcp is not working and entering the ip stuff manually doesn't work also.

I really would like to know if you solved the problem or not.

    Thanks,
    Stefan
