simply hook the DB up using a standard ethernet cable to your router (assumed you have configured your i-net access already on the router). The DB will retrieve the IP address, the gateway IP as well as the DNS IPs automatically (when not set to fixed network). If not done yet, install the DB Links web browser and launch it via the plugin menu. If you can see the dreambox homepage, you are there.

can you currenty access the internet with your PC using your router? y/n

If yes, have your connected the dreambox to the router (ethernet cable) ?

If yes, then open the network menu (menu => settings => expert => network/communication.

Then you should see the IP address the Dreambox has retrieved form the router using the DHCP protocol (see the x marked right next to the DHCP flag).
