I notice in the log that there are several missing .h files. I would still suggest that you either try to find the missing files or delete your current build environment and start from scratch so everything gets downloaded fresh.
Check whether the following files exist and if they do check permissions on the directories and files.

This is just a suggestion, but I would have a look higher up the compilation attempt and try to fix any downloads that have failed. Several of the sites for compiling enigma2 are no longer available and you might have to obtain the source from somewhere else. Missing files can cause all sorts of compilation failures.

I have written a plugin that only needs to be accessed with the remote control for a short time after which I would like to release the remote control back to enigma, but leave the plugin running. I can't close the session (I think) as the plugin should keep displaying a PIP. I have tried setting the focus to the parent, but it did not work - I might have done it incorrectly. When I say release the remote back to enigma, I mean returning the remote to 'normal' dreambox operations, e.g. changing channels etc.

Is it possible to do this?
Any advice on how to go about avhieving this would be greatly appreciated.

Any further news on this bug?
Is there a work-around in the meantime?

I am suffering the same problems with the plugin I am writing. I have checked and double checked that all file objects are closed and deleted.

I can shed a bit more light on the bug:
I changed the call ePicLoad::getThumbnail() to startDecode instead and the file leak went away. So the problem is in getThumbnail().

Note: AliAbdul1978's link does not work.

I would still make similar connections:
    1. DVI/HDMI from Dm800 to TV.
    2. Optical from DM800 to amp.
    3. Optical or coax from TV to amp. See if the TV allows setup to output bitstream to amp as this will give 5.1. If the TV supports bitstream (or whatever they call it on the TV documentation) then you might not need the optical from the DM800 to the amp as it will pass through the TV. If the TV does not support this, then you don't have much of a choice.

I can see why you would like to use the TV to select what you want to watch as it means selecting the source on a single device.

If the TV does not support bitstream out, then look at my first wiring suggestion and get a Harmony remote control which will allow you to set up activities for 'watching' TV and 'watching dreambox'. Then you still have to press only one button to switch on all required devices and put them on the right source. And one button turns off all devices as well (bonus).

I don't know which amp you have but I use an Onkyo tx-sr607 and would connect that as follows:
    1. DVI/HDMI from dm800 to HDMI on amp. ac3downmix=off on dm800. This will give DD5.1 to the amp otherwise it will be stereo.
    2. Optical out from TV to optical in of amp and associate it with another source. (These might also be coax, but should not be composite).

When you watch the DM800 you select the DM800 source on the amp.
When you watch the TV, you select the source set up in (2) on the amp.
When you do PIP, you can select either on the amp.

The DM800 has to have "AC3 downmix = off" in audio settings, You have to use the dreambox provided DVI/HDMI cable to connect to your amplifier (amplifier has to support HDMI in as well as Dolby Digital). I don't think you can connect the HDMI to your TV and then connect optical from your TV to your amp - that is the wrong way around from normal operation. In the event your TV supports this. you might have to fiddle with settings to enable it. You would also have to be careful to not create a feedback loop.

I am not aware of any TVs that can do 5.1 as they typically only have 2 speakers and 5.1 needs 5 plus sub woofer.

    serdarkurum:
Thanks for that. I had flashed the box using the browser method (as per Dm600 by holding down the switch while applying power) with an image that did not want to run. Thereafter the browser flash did not work, but the dreamup method did work.
As a matter of interest: When I plugged the USB cable into the USB socket and into the PC USB, XP automatically installed drivers for a composite device and the DM500HD was recognised. It doesn't use a serial cable, but installs drivers that emulate a COM port.

I am sorry I can't write this in German, but that is really the reason for this post. I have read the thread to the best of my ability, but most of the German is beyond my understanding of the language. Appologies again.

I have worked out how to change the remote code on the DM7025+ and the DM800 to only respond to 0031 or 0032. However, I can only set the Dream button to one of these codes. The "TV" button will not accept 0032. Instead of blinking twice to show the code was accepted, it gives one long blink, which, I guess, means it failed.

The method used to update the dreambox is:
    echo lvl > /proc/stb/ir/rc/mask0
where lvl is 0031 or 0032

I have also managed to change the remote for the "Dream" button to control 0032, but I cannot change the "TV" button to 0031.

Any help will be much appreciated. :question_mark:

I am new to this board and cannot find the place to download the autotimer plugin for the Dm7025.
As much as I understand German the post seems to say "download through the normal plugin download" which I cannot find.
Sorry if I am being stupid - I appologise in advance. :face_with_tongue:
