    Folks,
I ordered a DM8000 from hm-sat some weeks ago and as yet, nothing has shipped. The seller, hm-sat informs me that DMM has not informed them when they can expect stock. I have no reasons to think hm-sat is telling porkies.. sat-place and others are also showing longer delivery times for the receiver. This suggests there is yet another issue, either one that is halting production or just some kind of issue at the production end.

    Can anyone confirm this?

Even better, can DMM answer if there are some issues getting supply of the receiver and if not, why are some sellers unable to get stock.

It's very frustrating for a receiver that is at least 2 years late, to now being sold €200 more than officially stated by DMM (based on an email DMM sent me) and now seemingly having stock supply issues (or something else).

    DMM as usual is quiet.

    Folks,
I see HM-sat and satplace.de are listing the DM8000 at €999. However I previously received an email from DMM indicating that the bare-bones setup (w/o HDD, wifi or DVD-RW) would be €799.

However the specs on HM-sat and sat-place seem to suggest to me that these are bare-bone systems.. i.e without the DVD drive and wifi module.. yet the price is €999.. I may be wronge here.. but thats my reading of the specs.

When I originally applied to be a beta tester and then declined over the very restrictive terms and conditions.. I had asked DMM at the time if there was an option to get the beta box without the HDD, DVD and wifi to make it cheaper to get.. the reply I got had the following text..

"When the device will be launched later on it will be without all these accessories for RRP 799.- Euro. If the end user wants to upgrade the device with all accessories the price will be more than 1000.- Euro."

..I think that €799 is actually an accceptable price for a bare-bones system.. but if this is going to be €999 now, then I'm afraid that DMM needs to get their shit together as the price is not realistic.

Can anyone confirm if this €999 price is bare-bones or is it including the DVD & wifi?.. I don't need either.. I already have ethernet where my current 7025 receiver is located and don't need a DVD drive.. if I need to burn DVDs from recordings, I can transfer the files to my PC.

When I was originally offered the beta version and ultimately refused over the T&C and the price.. I asked if a cheaper option was available.. the reply from DMM stated that the final release version without HDD, wifi & DVD would be €799

    Email quote From DMM:
I am sorry but there is no cheaper option. Exclusively for the beta teser the DM8000 will be fully assembled with the HD500GB, the slim line DVD-burner and the WiFi-card. When the device will be launched later on it will be without all these accessories for RRP 799.- Euro. If the end user wants to upgrade the device with all accessories the price will be more than 1000.- Euro.

    that file is attached...

I've kept upto date with DMM's images and those of other teams, following CVS etc.. but the fault I reported is still not fixed.. each time, I have to copy this file back over /lib/modules/2.6.12.6/extra/tu1216.ko and then reboot the box to be able to tune in my DVB-T services

..and sooner or later, the open-embedded kernel version will be increased and probably prevent me using the old driver.

so I hope DMM is reading this and looking into why this fault occurs on the later and newest tu1216 driver.

Thanks to some help from DMM.. copying over /lib/modules/2.6.12.6/extra/tu1216.ko from the working release to the latest DMM or variant images, gets the DTT service searching working for me.

This is perfect work-around for now until the issue is fully understood and hopefully patched in the mainline.

So it looks like they do care!

    Folks,
I cannot get the DVB-T tuner to scan my local DTT services on enigma versions post august 2006.. images upto that point work fine tuning in my services. But those based on enigma2 after that date, both official and non-official, just do not find any DTT services... its the very same search each time and I have tried to vary settings and even punched in the exact settings I should require.. it just does not work.

Some hacking with the lamedb files etc, has led me to believe that it relates to QAM-16 support being broken... the reason being is that when I force the transponder and service data into a newer image, the tuner status shows QPSK when our services here in Ireland use QAM-16 constellation and in the images upto to 8/2006 it does show QAM-16.

But most importantly.. DMM just have not answered my emails.. and I've posted on this forum and never got an official answer that it is a bug etc.

I was just wondering if this is the norm for DMM.. that you pay a lot of money for a receiver and then get fuck all support because they just don't care.

Anyone else have the same experience.. or it there some hidden link that allows me to log a bug?

    Folks,
for some weeks now I have struggled to get Irish DVB-T services tuned in on any image (dmm and others) after August 25th.

    I posted my problem here..
    dvb-T not working

On images from 25th/8 or earlier.. I go to manual scan, select freq of 738 and search and it finds all Irish DTT services in my area.

This does not work in any form on later images.. and I suspect that QAM-16 is not working properly.

how do i get DMM to accept this issue as bug or post a bug.. I can recreate it instantly by upgrading to a new image and fail to find services, then roll back and instantly find them

if they do not acknowledge it is a bug, then what hope is there for expecting a fix?

    DMM,
please confirm why QAM-16 DVB-T will no longer scan since images dated last August. I have tried both DMM and other variant images and cannot tune in DVB-T services.

Official and non-official images with enigma2 CVS on or before 24/8/2006 are fine.. but all recent images just fail to find my local DVB services.

I think the issue relates to a bug in QAM-16 constellation support.

please confirm that you acknowledge the bug!

The cause I think is Constellation support for QAM-16 is no longer working.

I manually edited in services from my older backup into the new version and got it to try and diaplay the service, but it didn't work.. but under the tuner status menu, it had the correct settings except for Constellation which it listed as QSPK which we do not use in Ireland.. our DTT used QAM-16. On the older release this shows up as QAM-16 and works

So I fear that some of the cable tuner changes may have broken this.

    Folks,
I cannot get the DVB-T nim to tune in services with DMM official image from 8/11/06

so its obvious that sometime after 25/8/06 than DVB searching was changed such that I cannot get it work any longer.

To tune in my DVB-T services (dublin, Ireland) on the older versions, I have to do a manual scan, selecting 738 as the frequency.. works perfectly but finds nothing on the newer images.

Can someone confirm if they have DVB-T working either on the latest official images of if the issue is a known problem.

    Folks,
i recently purchased a DVB-T Nim for my 7025 to make my receiver a combined sat/terrestrial receiver. It works OK.

but.. when switching from a satellite to terestrial station, there can be a delay of over 5 seconds before a picture displays. Once it displays, I can change channel quite quickly between terrestrial stations.

It seems to me that when viewing satellite stations, the receiver may be powering down the DVB-T NIM.. because when you change back, there is a long delay.. If recording a programme from the terestrial stations while watching satellite channels, the channel changing is instant.. so thats why I think that it may be turning off the NIM.

anyone confirm the same behaviour.. possibly the same observed with the DVB-C variant?.. and also if anyone knows if Dream are planning to change the behaviour to make it more responsive.

many thanks for that.. I just got an email from the IHAD folk today that their Gemini beta is being released this evening.. so I will probably try that also in case is included the CVS update.

I had great results using Gemini on the 5620 so I am hoping it will prove as successful with the 7025.. fingers crossed.

anyone know for sure if this is fixed yet?

I tried the dreamville updates and have since seen several new features added such as the leadtime for recordings etc and what seems to be a fixed auto-scan for sats.

But the UHF settings are still not working and when I try the recommended modprobe, I lose UHF altogether until I reboot.

its the boxman image with the dreamville updates performed.

I saw the exact same with the original image from mid december and the 2.0 DMM image released some weeks ago.

Bear in mind that it happens every few minutes.. its not occurring very frequently. I am also using a Dragon Cam which is not working properly and needs to be reset every so often.. its possible that it is interfering with the box. But given than it happens with FTA broadcasts, I'm inclinded to think that CAM is not the cause

    Folks,
I'm noticing occasional 1 second sound gaps while watching FTA transmissions, say Vox on Astra 19.2 for example.. sound will go and then come back a second later. This doesn't happen on my 5620 on the same dish/LNBs.. so is this a bug with enigma2?

    Folks,
my new 7025 records .ts files on disk as did my 5620 with mounted CIFS drive.

However, the 5620 was capable of playing back mpg files that I had created either from imported DVDs or even after using software to demux the original .ts files and then say mplex to build a DVD quality mpg file.

So right now, it appears that if I record something, I can play back the recorded file but cannot convert to mpg and still playback or import other video files as I have previously done using my 5620 (with Gemini).

Is this just a limitation of enigma2 or is it something that will be changed as time goes by?

Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

    Box type:7025
    GUI (enigma1/enigma2): enigma2
    Firmware version:2.0

    UHF modulator

    Folks,
I recently got a 7025 and have found that with both the 2.0b and 2.0 (latest DMM) image that the UHF signal has a poor audio channel.

with my 5620 in the past, I needed to changed the audio sub-carrier from 5.5 to 6.0 (Ireland TV). These settings are also present in the 7025 gui but don't seem to have any effect no matter what I set them to.

Any ideas on how to sort this out?
